In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

im stumped!! partial digested food!!

hey all
this ones kinda a crazy one, ive had rtb my whole life and NEVER seen or heard of this so when it happened i have to ask....

heres the story
i have a 7.5' female pastel good girth normally eats 3-4 lbs rabbits max.
well for weeks i had my male in w/ her and never seen them tie up... once noticed that a few days had gone by n my male remained on opposite side of cage n they wanted nothing to do w each other, i fig. perhaps its time to seperate. as i have successully done in the past, n feed her a small meal. small being a 1-1.5lbs bunny. much smaller than normal feeding.
well this time unlike others she only held the food for a few days(almost a week) then passed it..!! no REGURG this was witnessed passed n o boy was that nasty... partially processed partially not
should i be worried? has anyone ever seen this?
is it just do to her possible being ovulating even tho it wasnt witnessed?
she does appear to be happy n healthy but i just dont know n need some help.... hope im just spazzin over nothing:thumbsup:

Don't quote me on this, but Im not sure that you can defecate anything without it being fully processed. It has to go through it all. That means that she had to regurge.

Thats just what I thought.

Only thing I can think of, is maybe the heat isn't high enough? If you watched her pass it out than that is the only thing I can think of.

she has been on the cool side for the last few days, temps around 74ish thruout the last week.. idk
as for the regure comment perhaps i was nt clear enough i did see it, however perhaps i didnt inform graphicly enough.... reader beware next few lines hehe
it wasnt the solid dog log lol it normally is, it was a bit more softer def. had hairs in it i dont think it was bone left but oddly miss shapened stool it was processed just not completely

wow i have a feeling im going to get some nonsense comments here but since its for the better of her ill bite.
ive been i boa fanatic since i was 6yrs old so thats well over 26yrs ive had snakes thru-out my house. yes i am familiar w most problems snakes face and how to successfully treat or work w the animal to help it... so buy no means any i just a confused herper...
the last recorded feeding is 1/10/11 prior to that she passed her feeding attempt b4 christmas which was my que she was prepping for mating..
normally i feed according to their bowel movements which is generally around every 3 wks... remember here i dont feed small pray so its not as tho a small rat is trying to tide over this nice sized girl..
to save time and aggravation i posted this in worries that thier may be lack of or worse build up of too much micro bacteria in her and if you personally know and experienced this pls chime up!!!!

Wow man, I just asked because usually when you hear that "my whole life" stuff, it's a teen who's been keeping for maybe 6 yrs.

I asked how often you feed because I've only ever heard of this from a Boa that was being fed every 7 days. You keep stuffing it in, it's gonna come out, digested or not. Doesn't seem to be the case here judging by your posts.

Have you tried pro-biotics? http://www.reptileuv.com/nutribac-df-probiotic-for-reptiles.php

Word of warning though. I just recommended this to another member, and I guess these people are pretty busy right now, so don't expect a rush delivery. Took her over a week to get hers. Just so you know. I order it every year though and use it a few times a year as maintenance. It's helped me with many intestinal issues like runny stools and regurges when I was rescuing still.

Well, there's my nonsense comment.

tnx crotalusadamanteus!!!
and thanks for clearifing my answers cause i knew they might have needed.. no offence i hope! i just know how people love to jump in just to be heard.... and this is one of those times that NO nonsence can be tollerated! i mean she may possibly be gravid and now w digestive prob. i dont wanna prolong it and cause deathto her or possibly the young..
i luckly havent had to use the probiotics but now will contact them w my concerns and hopefully i can get a quick resolve for her...

In my experience, digestive issues are a common symptom of parasites. Get a fecal exam done if you can rule out environmental concerns.

AHEM! I finally got it after a month!

Has anyone heard of using Tetracycline for internal problems with boas? It is supposed to help after a regurgitation etc. Supposedly it can be purchased at a feed store (not rural king) and is made for cattle.

Ooops! Sorry about that.

She went through the same link I gave in this thread. Although I've never had it take that long for me.

Not sure about the Tetracycline. It's an anti-biotic that works for mammals, and it kills fin rot and ick in fish. Never heard of it being used on a reptile though. Dr. Mader's book in the formulary section, mentions it's unspecific use, but also said "seldom used".

HA! At least you GOT yours!! I contacted them about my delay, LAST SUMMER, and was told they were "running behind"...and never received mine. Actually forgot about 'til now, as it was a very small purchase. Oh well...memories, and stuff!

But not to get off track, I agree that giving her that (or a similar product) would not be a bad idea, at all.

I don't want you to feel bad on my account. I just allowed it to slide too long to have a strong leg to stand on. Haven't sent any referrals their way, but I'm not upset, either.
