    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Impersonation...

Yes a long time ago I did have twoteals as a contact, and I do have a few reptile friends that have it.
 
Dennis, Cat I remember something like that as well, I think it was in a thread made during or just after Bobby got hammered over being wrong about the lizard illness a year or so ago. Randy
 
i use his twoteals addy when i contact him. I actually just sent out an email to it recently too with an email joke thing.

People are just dumb, no point responding to it, and no point giving them the satisfaction of knowing it riles people up, you know?. Im sure theyre sitting there getting a kick out of people responding about it. Sure its lame they tried to impersonate rich, and its good to let him know so he can act, but other than that, i say people just ignore that junk as best they can. Least, thats just how i feel.

Bullies and Morons like this like attention, they need it to feel good about themselves because they cant get those feelings in other ways, and unfortunately for them, thats just a sad personal problem that they just feel the need to force on to others. Dont let em have that edge.
 
I probably shouldn't bother posting this because it's not really proof of anything, but I often look at misspellings in these "secret identity" posts/emails and start searching. The word "fanfare" is misspelled as "fanfair" in one of the mystery emails to Bobby Hill. This isn't the most commonly used word, so it was interesting that when I searched for that keyword, there IS an old thread where the word is misspelled. And the poster who misspelled the word was also implicated by Bobby as misrepresenting Tegus in a thread from January. I'll leave it someone else to repeat and report what I found. Like I said, it's proof of nothing, but it may provide a lead...
 
Actually, I believe it is just ample evidence of the low level of intelligence of the person who did this. I mean, what did he THINK was going to happen?

Bobby did what any intelligent human being would have done. Doubted that the source was legit and just asked me about it.

Obviously the person who did the impersonation wouldn't have even thought to handle it that way, and thought everyone would be just as brainless as he is. :rofl: Yeah, it certainly would have fooled HIM....

You got me curious, so I did a search and found the single result.

I'm going to go ahead and say "No. Not a snowball's chance in hell."

Yeah, Bobby "called him out" because he had posted the wrong picture in a tegu ad awhile back but there was no legitimacy to the accusations of deliberate misrepresentation and all was easily explained and corrected. The one example is a guy who's well known, well established and not remotely likely to use internet anonymity to try and implicate any third party in anything he has to say. If... IF he had anything to say to or about Bobby, he'd just say it outright. I know for a fact he had no resentment towards anyone for the posts in that thread because I discussed it with him at the time and I'd characterize his attitude as wryly amused considering that he was being accused of misrepresentation due to shoving the wrong photo in one of his hundreds of ads by a guy who was claiming tegu expertise (Incidentally, the man Bobby chose to accuse has a solid two decades more experience with tegus than Bobby does... AND a formal education that Bobby lacks... AND has done south and central american fieldwork, the whole thing was a chucklefest).

Bobby stepped into a big steaming pile of public ridicule recently. He made a complete ass out of himself and is experiencing the reprecussions of that. While the cowardly tactics of the person who sent those emails are not to be applauded, it's not really surprising that people are taking the time to tell Bobby off. If someone can figure out who sent them and hold them publically accountable too- great, I'm all for it. Just don't start jumping towards conclusions or pointing fingers at decent people with evidence as scanty and meaningless as a single identical misspelling.

As for the support of your friend, that is fine, but he did use that term. He also claimed that colombians hatched in about 60 days, however the books claim it is 150 to 175 days. Yes you are all knowing God and at the same time you know nothing at all, oh wise one.
 
That is quite enough, gentlemen. BOTH of you have just gotten warning points for attacking a member outside of the BOI. These run on battles all across this site WILL stop.
 
Wow, this is all so sad. I have Bobby's email, I don't think I've sent him anything in a long time, but to impersonate the owner of a site is more than I thought anyone would stoop to.

Sorry that Rich and Bobby have to go through this and I do hope that the emails stop. Good call Bobby to address Rich yourself.
