In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

After not seeing the tubs I wanted in any of my local Target stores, and hearing similar complaints from people in several states, I made an inquiry to Sterilite. I received a response today...and it is what we were afraid of:
Thank you for contacting Sterilite. Our #1752 - #1756 ClearView Storage Boxes have now been discontinued. No stock remains at any of our facilities. They were most recently manufactured exclusively for Target, however, they have discontinued purchase of this line.
For anybody that uses the 1752, 1754, and/or 1756 (6, 15 & 32qt) tubs, that means if you don't have all you need, you're SOL. There are replacements:
Item #1752, #1754 and #1756 have been replaced with #1751 (6Qt), #1753 (15Qt) and #1755 (32 Qt), now available at Target Stores nationwide.
but I have yet to see them in stores, so I don't know if they will fit the racks.

A few people have found a some online sources (some at inflated prices), but they won't last long. If you use them - buy what you can find.

This is why I like Iris tubs. They haven't changed tub dimensions in many many years.
It's unlikely the replacement models will fit the racks that used the discontinued styles. Both Sterilite and Rubbermaid are bad for doing this every 3-5 years.

The replacement tubs are not a usable match for the 1752, 1754 & 1756 as they are "latchables." When you're in target next, look for the tubs with the purple latches...Those are what replaced our standard Sterilites.

I've heard AP is considering nixing Sterilite racks completely because of this and using Rubbermaid/Iris only.

Did you hear that from them??

Nope, heard it 2nd hand. I don't want to bug Ali (I'm sure she's being bombarded with the Sterilite issue as is) until they've got everything straightened out. Not too sure how they would continue using Sterilites at all if they are switching to this new design. I'm fairly certain the information I read was accurate because I don't see them having much of a choice.

Pictures of the new tubs can be seen here.

There are still the 41 qt tubs, which are fairly popular, and the 1851, 1854, and 1856 (6, 12, 28qt) that are sold by WalMart. They aren't the same, flat bottomed tubs, but they've been around for years (I was using the 28qt tubs back in the early 90s).

As for the replacements - I saw one this afternoon...a 12 qt. It looks pretty close to the same size, its just got that stupid latch on it. I might buy one and see.

I'd be interested in knowing how you make out with the 12qt new styles.
I don't think they'll work for smaller snakes as the latches make quite the gap.

As for me...I'm hording all of the 1752-56's in my area. :D

Yeah - I noticed that on the 6 qt I looked at...
I'm hoping not to need any more racks in the 15/32qt sizes. And, hopefully AP will make me a rack for the 1851s - I've got a boatload of those in the basement (and I asked Sterilite if there plans to discontinue that series)

Just looking at Repti-Racks site and looks like they switched over to the container store tubs says they are very good and the size looks very comparable to the 1756. Not sure if they will work or not but anybody with any info this might be of help! I use both 1754-1756 right now and have a few extra as I was planning on adding extra racks soon this might make this tough as well but it could also make it easy if anybody knows of anyone trying to unload a small rack or 2 for 1756-1754 let me know I might be interested!

Scratch that had my dimensions wrong on my tubs I suck with a tape  that stinks thought I had one:ack2: This really stinks for all glad I have a few extra but if they wear out get broke ect.. Screwed with the pants on!! Got my wife on Her way to my most hated of stores to buy up anything they have 1754-1756!!

1752's are 4 1/4"H x 8"W x 14-1/2"L (6qt)
1754's are 6-1/2"H x 11-3/4"W x 15"L (15qt)
1756's are 6-3/8"H x 16-1/4"W x 23-1/2"L (32qt)

And before I forget...
If you call your local Target to find out what they have available you will need the DCPI codes:

1752: 002020470
1754: 002020471
1756: 002020472

I have been in contact with Ali over at AP... primarily because I was looking at some racks.... she had advised me that Steirlite was doing away with that line.... and that unless I already had the tubs... I might want to look at either Rubbermaid or Iris. Then last monday I bought out a small time leo breeder and I got several 1851 tubs along with some homemade racks. I contacted her to see if that is what replaced the 1752's. She said no, however she said she went to walmart and picked up a few to see if they would fit. She said they DID fit in the hatchling rack.

Im not at home... or Id supply a screenshot of the email.

OK 15qt Sterilite 1753 works fine I just took the latches off because I don't like how they look. But I put them in a AP rack and they fit the exact same as 1754!! The groves on the inside at the top are not the best either but don't think they will hurt!

What do you mean but "will fit." Are they as snug as the 1752's (hatchling Cornsnakes, for example, can't escape)?

Actually, they are very snug in the hatchling rack I have. The 1752, which it was designed for, does not fit as snuggly and makes me nervous about keeping hatchlings in them. There is about a 1/8 inch gap with the 1752. There is no gap with these other two.

Good to know. I have a 3 level Economy Rack that I am using with the 1756 (32 qt) tubs. I was previously thinking about selling it and now am even more convinced to do so. I am glad I picked up three new tubs for it, along with the 3 that is in it now. Should make selling it a little easier.

So they don't have a gap from the latches? Looked like they would. Are they the same width as the 1754's where you can fit two up?

That's odd. My 1752 doesn't have gaps that would prevent hatchling Cornsnakes from escaping let alone anything else?
