In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    Addendum: 01/10/2026
    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

when you sell a snake do you tell them that this snakes brother is also the father? People accept that?

Every single morph on the market, all the different species, had to be proved out. How do you prove out a morph Sherri?

I hope Karma is a little kind to you.

Thanks for that but I don't believe in things like karma. :)

***edit... I never said 100% that I believe it's ok to breed and produce scaleless beardies. I said that as long as they thrive in captivity there is no reason why they should not be. Thus far I have seen no evidence that they do not do fine under captive conditions, if evidence is presented that they do not do well, then I would agree with you that they should not be bred.

It's alright, Michele, if that is how they make themselves feel more in control and better about themselves, then "points" a way!!!! I don't mind what they think of me.
I think you're right, we've stumbled into a forum that has lots of clic's and if you believe differently then them, they'll do their damnedest to boot you out. That's alright too, sooner or later they'll just have themselves to go after. Won't that be fun! :shootfoot

That's quite obvious. I do believe that you get what you give. Hopefully, in your case it won't be a bunch of mommy/sister father/brother reptiles uprising in the middle of the night!!!! :uzi:

"There are always risks when you are breeding reptiles, especially on a larger scale. There will always be deformities, dead in egg, breeders that die, I'm sorry but that is a reality, whether you are inbreeding or not.

I am not saying I think it is a good idea to inbreed and inbreed your animals year after year after year. In fact I am a huge believer in outcrossing."
but you can lower the health risks BY NOT INBREEDING ON PURPOSE.its discusting what is going on

Yes and you have no idea what I have given and what I have got. BTW, you never answered my question.

yup,and we can just sit back and watch the destruction

"90% of the breeders that frequent THIS site" i think this is the problem sherri,we are stepping on too many toes here, that's why dennis insulted you.did he get any points for that? i got points earlier for saying " a** " but im curious..would i get points for saying " kiss my dennis " ? im really only just using an emoticon provided to me by fauna.

BS. The both of you have been down right nasty in the other thread. If I didn't plan to post I would have pointed the both of you already.

The fact of the matter is that this website has rules, when they are broken by a poster then warnings are given. SImple isn't it? As far as believing differently than someone, I have just as much of a right as you do to express my opinions here. I have managed to do so for several years without racking up a single warning point because I took the time to read the rules and I choose to follow them.

No thanks. I'm participating in this thread. I will leave it to others to choose to point either of us.

Interesting theory, however it is obviously incorrect since many of the moderators here have warning points themselves. :shrug01:

By looking at dachiu's care summary on these animals (and we have to admit that these animals are so new that we don't even know the half of it) these animals need lower temperatures because of their skin. Beardies need temps of about 110f in order to digest their food. What happens when they can't get that temp without it hurting them? They never digest their food? It's been suggested that the UVB be weaker and further away...why is this? Probably because their skin could not take it.
If their skin is like a pinkie then I would like mating explained to me. How does the male do it without tearing her up?
It's late and my brain isn't functioning at full capacity, but I'm sure there is more.
Logic and common sense is going to tell you that major adjustments need to be made for these animals....I don't understand the need to create these animals when daily, on my forum I am correcting grievous mistakes made by misinformed owners. Can't you just see the problems these new creatures are going to have to endure?
The did NOT create a more durable animal, they created a weaker one, minus the scales, so that the colors shows brighter. Different = money. It has nothing to do with the animal itself.

I read the writeup on the page about the Silkbacks and you are right, it does say their care has to be adjusted and that their skin tears easily. It almost sounds like they would be kind of hard to care for. However, I will reserve judgement on these until I can learn more about their captive care and how they do in captivity. Everything I posted previously regarding inbreeding still stands though. :)

Well, it's never been obvious to me and I've been here for awhile now. I'm actually pretty observant and semi intelligent as well. Anyhow, all this petty bickering is getting us to the middle of nowhere real quick. It might be a good idea just to agree to disagree on this issue for now.
