What is the shortest time that an egg has hatched for you guys? So far, last year and this year, the fastest to hatch was 39 days at 88 degrees. My other incubator is set at 82 and those eggs are hatching at about day 58.

In case most of you have not noticed, I made changes to the donation amounts as well as the durations for all of the paid membership levels. Things are winding down here, and this seems to be the most prudent way to deal with the "end of life" period of this site.

In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

normally (unless i forget) i write down the lay dates and when they hatch i write the hatch date on the enclosure i have them in. but to be totally honest i do not count how many days.... by looking at the lay date i get an idea when i should be looking for babies but i dont count the days. the only time i count days is if i have a premie or for whatever reason i have to slit the egg.

Last season
Last season I documented every egg I hatched including the date it was laid. I usually incubated for female, however, sometimes I would incubate at 85 to get a mix of females and males. I never incubated for males but still hatched at least 20-30% males (this is only based on those I had long enough to sex with 100% certainty before I sold them). The shortest time between lay date and hatch date was 38 days, and the longest was, if I recall correctly, 53 days. Oddly enough, almost every other egg (at least 30 of them) hatched somewhere between 45 and 49 days. I do quite a bit of calendar watching and get very nervous if they don't hatch by day 50 and I have an egg now that is on day 55...... hmmmm..... of course, I have incubated around 81-82 so far this season.
