• In the past two days I have gotten emails asking about being requested to provide credit card info in order to register and also to make a post in the classifieds forums. PLEASE NOTE: In no instance will this site ask you for this sort of information. The only time any request for payment is made is if you choose to opt-in for a higher membership level, and that is done SOLELY through PayPal. Anything else is coming from a source other than this site. My guess is that this is coming through Google Adsense, but when I can get someone to send me a screen shot of this sort of request, I will know more.

    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Incubator questions

Need? Unless the temp of the environment your incubator is in is going to fluctuate significantly, I would say no. Although it would still be a good idea.
 
to low for incubator temp. I run the incubators at 89 and that gives some play as far as temp. ( 1 or 2 Deg. swing ) any lower then 86 and your going to run into problems. IMO.

No I know lol keep my incubator at 88. But I was stating my house temp with my house temp like that will my incubator fluctuate?
 
I would for the simple fact that WHAT IF something goes wrong. I just think worst case scenarios. Imagine not hatching out what you had hoped this year...that should make your decision pretty easy.

I hatched my first clutch using a hovabator. I started out with no thermostat... the temp was all over the place!! After a few days I used a cheap $15 thermostat and that kept things pretty stable. Hatched 5 healthy babies.
 
I will not touch A helix have had 2 both failed and i lost a few snakes due to over heating IMO not worth the risk. herp stats when they fail also are triggered to stay on and the heat runs up have first hand experience with both failing not a good situation.
 
hmm sucks that you had such bad experience with them but I've had quite the opposite, have had one of my Helix t-stats for probably 5 years and it still works like new but will probably be replacing it very soon just to be safe and I've never had any issues with the helix either. I would actually never touch a ranco just because they seem cheaply made.
