In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Incubator

I have several DIY incubators made from 120 and 150qt coolers. They work great, and my overall hatchrate is very good.

I've used Hovabators with a Herpstat thermostat controlling them, a closet incubator that didn't stay as stable as I wanted, and now I'm in the process of building a large cabinet-style incubator to replace the closet.
The Hovabators stay beautifully stable if you turn the wafer up to full, and plug the unit into a quality proportional thermostat.

I converted a newer style broken upright chest freezer.
Its heated with the big apple heat ropes and a ranco heat controller. Keeps a perfect 88 degrees. I dont have any eggs for it yet but im sure it will work fine.

I am currently using a retired wine cooler.

Temp probe is integrated and surprisingly close to temp with my Helix.
external light switch already integrated, then upgraded with compact 11" flourescent (brighter). It come with steel wire racks, and a wire basket at the bottom for water bottles. i can incubate 10 tubs at once.

Craigslist special! $30. just add heat and controller!

* and it looks better than melamine

but not economical if you have more than 10 breeding females.

I lucked out and got a Precision Standard Incubator for free from the biology lab at my college. They had too many and it had been sitting in a corner for 4 years. Just picked it up today, so I'm not sure how well it works, but it should hold a steady temperature. It can hold 8 tubs, and has an inner glass door so you can look inside without letting all the heat out! I'm pretty excited..

Gotta love them wine coolers!!!!

Ive had mine setup for week and its been stable within 1 degree with a helix dbs-1000.

I'm waiting on my hygrometer/ thermometer to get here so I can monitor humidity for week. But all is well so far.

Will post pics soon.

Well Im still in the cave man age I guess I took a 10 gallon aquarium wrapped it in some Fancy Berber carpet complete with designer "Red" Duct tape mind you, then put styro foam once again Red duct taped to top lid and "Red" Taped to the bottom.I bought a 100 watt wich is oversized on purpouse aquarium submersible heater, poked small vent holes in the styro mesh top to breath.I then take my small egg container and float it directly on the water, sounds funky but you never have to add moisture it makes just the right amount,it has a thermometer in the egg basket ,in the tank and I use a third one digital to make sure every thing stays "copa stetic" OH Ya any old duct tape will not work it has to be "Red"

hot a hobuvator last year when I had an unplanned egg surprise ( a result betwen myy unlucky mite infestion or they were gravid when recieved the pair ( were kept together ) they had just came out of a 45 day QT. and I had receiver another bp and realized it had mite and I had transported them into the snake room cause I had my aspen supplies in there. and with in 5 days mites were everywere. SO I placed the bps in one bag, the corns, and rat snake in another bag, and let the largest slim roam my room.
about 30 days later I come home to the snake dropping eggs as I was checking on them. I had 100% hatch rate using the hobuvator but yu must keep a check onthe humidity. my eggs were starting to dry out alittle bit at the egg but it didn't hurt the snake I got lucky. ( ihad figuer it was a set and forget until day 57)

I using it this year and have inthe corner a 4ft tall coke machine I need ot start getting ready in case i have mutli snakes clutches this or next year.
