    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I was at the vet yesterday, getting my regular checkup you know (jk), when a woman broght a bearded dragon in. She said she bought it three months ago at Petsmart, she said they picked out all of her supplies for her and also a couple of books that were good that she brought with her to the vet. She also brought in some caresheets offline. The beardie was the size of my middle finger. It had been kept at 80 degrees (hotspot) and had been fed only full sized crickets and a HANDFUL of mealworms per day. The poor animal was compacted so bad that it was paralized from its 'waist' down. Its body was stiff and hardened. It was horrific. She had the knowledge obviously, but did not try to do anything to make its enclosure better once she saw that Petsmart had told her wrong and recommended too weaker a heat source. Phew, I hate it for the animal.

Hopefully you and the vet were able to steer her in the right direction as to the proper care for her beardie. This is just another example of poor or misinformation from a pet store who were most likely just after her money. Don't get me wrong, not all pet stores act this way, just that it's very common. We try to educate first and sell second with our dragons, but feel it's well worth losing a sale than trying to repair hurt feelings and sick or injured dragon. It also seems that part of the fault must fall on the lady's shoulders as well since you stated she had care sheets and books and did not utilize them as far as proper care and set-up goes. Personally, the only one I truly feel sorry for is the beardie. Hope the vet was able to pull it through and the lady got the right info and corrected her mistakes.
