    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

im new to keeping geckos, but plan to get one or two cresteds. i would like to keep the possibility of breeding in the future open. i know individuals cant be sexed when they are young, but would like to purchase a baby. would it work to start with one baby and purchase an adult (of equivalent size to avoid fighting) of the opposite sex once the baby is grown? also, if i dont want to breed my pair constantly can i keep them in the same cage with a divider then remove the divider when i want them to have contact?

i am moving soon, but plan to set up a cage and get a gecko as soon possible (likely mid-june). does anyone know of good breeders in the sf bay or monterey bay area as i would prefer to see the individual before i get it?

thanks ahead...

Hi Stephanie, welcome to the forum. There's no reason why you shouldn't be able to purchase a baby now and an adult later. As long as they are both about the same size when you introduce them for breeding, you shouldn't have any problems.

The divider is a good idea as well. I do know that some animals will get stressed if they see (or even smell) the opposite sex on the other side, so you may wantto make sure the divider is not clear. Not always necessary, but if you run into problems you might consider the possibility.

In terms of breeders, I'm just a midwesterner so I'm not too familiar with anyone's crested stock down there. Maybe Marcia (Fauna Name: "Golden Gate Geckos") will be able to provide more info.
