In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Anyone heard of Chris Godino - Reptile Retreat? Has an ad in the mammals section:
http://faunaclassifieds.com/forums/showthread.phps=&threadid=41470&perpage=5&pagenumber=1

Among other things like unsexed baby monkeys and Hippos he is advertising:

REPTILES
Over 10,000 species of reptiles
Monitors, Skinks, Tegus etc!!
Crocodilians!!
Turtles-Tortoise!!
Snakes, boas, pythons, etc!!
NO venomous or Venamoids!!
Prices Vary please call or email for specific prices!!

Somebody must have dealt with him if he is stocking 10,000 species of reptiles (and none are venomous)

Any experiences, please post

The impression I received from reading his ad is that he is a broker. I seriously doubt he stocks everything he has listed.

Chris is a 16 year old kid, who brokers animals and has a few of his own, Chris is a nice kid, but is young and gullable. He does mean well. I have known him for at least 2 years. i do not know exactly what is his and what he is brokering

# of reptile species

Just out of curiosity a quick check on the net indicates that there are estimated to only be around 7,700 species of reptiles known in the world so his price list must be pretty amazing!

From: http://www.embl-heidelberg.de/~uetz/db-info/HowManyReptileSpecies.html

The majority of reptile species are the lizards (4,470 species) and snakes (2,920), whereas the turtles (295), crocodiles (23) and tuataras (2) represent only 4.1% of all living reptiles. 51% of known reptiles species belong to one of only 3 families: the colubrid snakes (about 1,850 species), the skinks (1,200) and the geckoes (1,000).

Yes I'm pretty sure he is attempting to be a broker since the phone number indicates his address is in a residential neighborhood in Mass..

According to USDA database updated 04/04 he is listed as a Class C exhibitor, and not liscenced as a Class B Dealer (needed to sell or broker all those mammals, (not needed for reptiles)) .
