gene black
about 8 or 9 months ago a friend of mine bought a 1.4 red eyed albino leo group from him. My friend was very excited about getting them. About that same time I saw an ad on reptibid for a real nice looking shtct male that he was selling. I placed a bid about 5 days before the auction. I contacted my friend about the albino group he recieved, and he was not happy with them because they weren't the leos Gene was advertising, and they were sickly looking. One even died a couple of days after he recieved them. He contacted Gene about this, and Gene pretty much told him to get f***ed. In the mean time I started to do a little research on RB and noticed that he had sold that particular shtct 3 other times. All of the auctions ended with the reserve being met, but here it was again up for sale. So the auction ended, and Gene contacted me for payment. I told him to square up with my friend first, and to send me recent pics of the gecko I won. He would not do so, and said that he was going to contact the webmaster at RB and have my account closed. The webmaster contacted me and I explained that the gecko in question was sold 3 different times and that he would not send new pics to verify that I was indeed getting the same gecko. The webmaster agreed with me, and told gene to drop the issue. Gene then sent me a couple of nasty e-mails saying that he was going to take me to court because RB is a legal binding contract blah blah blah and so on. I then told Gene that I would buy the gecko with out recent pics, but that I was 33, 6'2 250lbs and an ex- golden gloves boxer, and for under $200 you can travel anywhere in the U.S and I would not have a problem coming to collect if that wasn't the gecko he sent. I then explained to him that internet fraud is a federal offense, and that the F.B.I would get involved,(I even sent him the link to the F.B.I website) and that anything the feds get involved in the I.R.S usually does too. I suggested that he get all of his ducks in a row, and be ready with sales reciepts and proof that he paid taxes on all of the animals he sold. needless to say he never contacted me again.
I then contacted my friend, and told him to tell Gene to give him his money back or he was going to report him as well. After about a month, Gene did refund my friends money, all except 2 shipping charges, and the cost of the dead gecko. (which in my opinion is Gene's fault) I believe Gene kept over $150 out of a $550 deal. needless to say my friend was happy to even get that back. People like Gene make me sick!
