    =====================

I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    =====================
Some people have indicated that finding the method to contribute is rather difficult. And I have to admit, that it is not all that obvious. So to help, here is a thread to help as a quide. How to become a contributing member of FaunaClassifieds.

And for the record, I will be shutting down the Google Adsense ads on January 1, 2025.

I saw Hank Molt's website and couldn't believe the animals he has for sale. I am thinking of buying some animals from him. Has anyone done any business with him?
Eric Weintraub

There are several posts and threads on him. Use the search function on the Board Of Inquiry. Hank does not own all the animals posted on his site so do not be overly impressed.

A King Cobra Story

I would not purchase any specimen from Honest Henry Molt....I have known him since 1966 and was advised by my assistant at the Ft. Worth Zool.Pk. Herpetarium--Joe Laszlo --"be careful, make sure he has the animal"--4 years ago, Honest Henry had a "MASSIVE" King Cobra for sale----we made the deal, I went to the bank and obtained a loan as the price was up there . Well, to make a long story short--I called, everything was set except for one thing....You guessed it !! Hank didn' have nor did he even own the King....Never again will I deal with this individual. I know from several repected individuals that they too want nothing to do w/him. My advice is like joe Laszlo----be damn careful.....Adios, E.Turner :bluegrab: :bluegrab:

Hank, the story continues! Stay tuned!

Hank Molt owes me $1152.00! (as of January 2005)
And I WILL get it!

Randal......

I hope you get your money. That is complete BS!!For someone who claims to have such ethics to pull off the stunts that he pulls is a joke.I would never trust my money with Molt.(No matter how long he's been in buisness).

I support and appreciate Mr. Molt's responsible and ethical stance on venomoids. In my opinion we need more of those ethics in the industry.

I agree that it seems to be a little difficult to buy snakes from him. I've tried and failed. I'd happily buy from him at a show, if I could hand over money for the animal and take it away immediately. But a go-round by email and phone about an advertised animal has never gotten me anywhere. A pity, since he would definitely be on my "prefer to do business with" list due to his responsible anti-venomoid stance.

There are crooks and then there is Hank!

Hank Molt is a crook, plain and simple. He is a thief, plain and simple. In one incident, Hank was illegally importing animals from Australia. The person who delivered the animals to Hank wanted his money. Instead of paying the guy, he pulled a knife on him and took off with the animals. The whole incident ended up with the Feds being involved. Hank did prison time for that and other illegal transactions. Apparently, he never learned his lesson. He has recently posted reptiles for sale on another website that are illegal to own or sell. He doesn't own any of the animals he posts for sale. He has taken months and even years to get the animals to the purchasers, while he had their money.

Last year he ripped off two guys from Germany, and tried to blame his former partner from Oklahoma. This has been well documented in this very forum. The Daytona hot show was a bust last year, and not because of the hurricane. In fact, one of the vendors was bit by a western diamondback rattlesnake during the hot show.

Wayne Hill should be embarrassed to be associated with Hank Molt. Hank's illegal activities could bring down Wayne's Daytona show to the level of Hank. If it does, everyone will start going to the NRBA shows.

The herp community should be advised not to do business with this known rip-off artist. After all that has taken place with Hank, anyone who does business with him deserves what they get. And that will be nothing. This guy gets so much pleasure out of lying, stealing, cheating, etc.

Hank is a disgrace to the reptile community. This is the instance of the bad apple spoiling the barrel. There are many good and decent reptile breeders in this business that are honest and trustworthy, unlike Hank Molt!

the incident with Hank going to prison

occurred , if I am not mistaken almost 25 years ago. Is that what you are referring to? Where did you get your information from?

Hank Molt

Don't know much about Hank Molt other than he was associated with Tom Crutchfield from the time i first started going to HERTAFAUNA in the late eighties to the early nineties when he and Crutchfield had some kind of falling out. Mr Crutchfield himslef made some very serious accusations to those present one time about Hank Molt and some of his activities in regards to TOM CRUTCHFIELD REPTILES. My impression was things were bad between Crutchfield and Hank Molt. Very bad. I Didn't encounter Hank Molt again untill August 2001 at the Daytona show. He came to our table and told us to take our SPIDER TORTOISES off because he knew they werent captive bred. Well across the isle is STRICTLY REPTILES and they have SPIDER TORTOISES also. So i say what about those(Strictly) tortoises. Dont worry about them he tells me and then instructs me to remove the tortoises again. Of course i didnt and neither did any other vendor there. I kind of think we were the only ones Hank Molt told to remove the tortoises. Does anyone remember the year all the SPIDER TORTOISES flooded into the country? 2001. We had them and so did STRICTLY and BURGUANDY and several others. Funny how things work out. I never purchased anything from him personally so the only thing i can add is about his character. He has none. He left me with the impression of a scam artist and a bully. Good luck and may the wise hand of hind sight cover your third point of contact when you most need it. Ciao. Andrew (fecal matter resistant) Potts P.s. Please excuse the hap hazard writing style. Thank you. Ciao.

Just an FYI. Hank sold me a supposed "female" mexican boa about a year back. It turned out to be male. Very easily verifiable MALE. So be careful! I've been getting jerked around a lot by people selling me "females" that aren't lately. :(

I think I have read 3 different threads where you have mentioned getting mis-sexed animals. That is frustrating......and ridiculous.

Sean P.

You're telling me? I trusted these people to send me properly sexed animals. NONE of them said "might be female" or "I/We don't know what sex it is."

Now granted, its partially my fault for not sexing the animal right away, so I'm not expecting anything from it. Just thought I'd warn people.

It's frustrating because you're back to square one. No female. The bright side is you have an extra male to insure fertility. You just need to find the female........again.

I've never done business w/ Hank. I've heard alot of things from alot of reliable sources. People either love him or they hate him.

Interesting story...however it seems quite contradictory to a post you made less than a year ago inquiring about Hank Molt...

A most impressive list of rare reptiles is being offered by one Hank Molt....Since I have never purchased anything from this individual, I was wondering if I might ask other members for some input as the snakes I am considering purchasing are very expensive and I don't wish to have problems after funds have been sent....Does anyone have information concerning this individual ........ I sincerely appreciate your input and consideration....Thank you, Earl H.Turner

I'm just wondering how you've known him for close to 30 years, had a bad experience trying to obtain a king cobra from him 4 years ago, yet still made an inquiry that sounded like you'd never even heard of the guy 10 months ago.

Not trying to be antagonistic here, but the two posts just don't make that much sense...maybe you could clarify. Here's your original inquiry into Molt:

Questioning -----Hmmmmm!!!!!

Before I was going to post , I was searching to see if others had had an "experience"----when I stated I had purchased nothing from him--well, he never had the huge King Cobra....sooo, I never purchased a snake from him. I wanted to see if what I was being told by others was true---and it was !!!! I know many of the people who own the very reptiles which he has for "sale". In one instance, the individual told Molt that the animals were not for sale !!!!! they were listed anyway---------without the owners approval....Oh, and by the way Ahmad ( sorry, I can't remember your name), oftentimes in order to find out facts, a low key approach is necessary....Thank you for yor interests----Shalom, E.Turner :smash:

My name is Abhishek, Earl, which I realize can be a tough one to annuniciate, much less remember. No hard feelings.

I didn't mean to sound like I was accusing you of being a liar, as that was surely not my intent. I apologize if you took it that way. However, I'm sure most people would have found those two posts to be quite contradictory to each other, as I did. It seemed odd to me that you've known him for 30 years yet needed to inquire about him. However, I asked if you could clarify, and you did. Thanks for clearing that little bit of information up for me. Take care.

Plight of Venomous Enthusiasts !!!!!

Abhishek, I truly apologise for the misspelling of your name....I am sincerely worried about our rights to properly maintain a collection of venomous reptiles. I have worked the majority of my life (over 40 years) maintaining and breeding many species of venomous snakes. At the present time, I am breeding C.A. Bushmasters (stenophrys) , S.A Bushmasters (muta) ,albino Prairie Rattlesnakes and yellow and black colored Eastern Diamond Backed Rattlesnakes (F2 parents). Also, I breed Bolson Tortoises , Twist necked Turtles and hopefully this year--Mata Mata's. I maintain as good if not better care of my specimens than any zoo in the country and yet I have to worry about state laws which may abolish my life's interest and work !! At my age, I cannot change my views regarding our freedoms---many of which I may well see the demise of : the right to keep (PROPERLY) various exotic specimens....I cannot accept these laws ....I hope that the rumors I recently heard about more restrictions are bogus----if they are true, then Texas Hot Keepers are in for some hard times....If you are ever in the Del Rio area, call me and I would be happy to show you my set up and my animals....Take care, Earl Turner
