Anyone ever bought from this man. Please let me know your good or bad experiences. I'm looking at buying from him, but when people don't have websites, or reputations online, I get a little worried.

Thanks
Allison Brunner

BAD GUY!

I posted this inquiry, and though no one could vouch for this guy, I gave him a shot. I paid him, including $75 for shipping overnight, and I still don't even have the snakes. He shipped them out ground instead of overnight, so I'm going to be getting them sometime mid next week, probably very unhappy, if they make it alive.
Buyer Beware! It took me calling 5 times and emailing twice just to get teh tracking # and now I've emailed 3 times and called 3 more trying to get the money back that I paid for overnight shipping and discuss with him how inaproporiate it is to ship snakes ground, but no reply.
Be careful all!

Allison Brunner

Allison,

I'm sorry to hear what happened. Considering the current temperatures in the Midwest I would be very surprised if the snakes make it alive if shipped ground. Have a camera handy to use when the shipment arrives. What did he use UPS or USPS?

Regards.

UPS. I called them franticly all day before finally reaching the top of the line who told me there's nothing they can do because of the weekend. Lukily their trucks are apparently kept in a heated warehouse over weekends, so they should be ok until Monday. It's just the Monday-Wednesday time frame I'm worried about.

They told me if anyone scans the box, it should come up with an alert to call the office, but he said this isn't a fool proof system and sometimes a busy package handler can miss those things.

So we're just praying they make it ok. I'm prepped with a camera, but either way the guy owes me $ for not shipping overnight, I at least deserve my $75 shipping back right there. We'll work out the $300 for the snakes once we see the condition. We're just hoping it's good for the snakes sake.

Allison,

He charged you $75 shipping for UPS overnight? Do you know the approximate size/weight the box? Are those heavy snakes?

Best regards.

Yes, I was getting several burmese from him. I anticipated the box would weigh 15 lbs or more so $75 didn't sound unreasonable. But going ground, there's no way a package could cost even 1/2 that much for ground.

Allison,

I agree with you. The charges didn't seem that unreasonable for a 15-lb package shipped overnight. The MN Herpetological Society meets on the first Monday of every month at the University of MN, Saint Paul campus. There is at least one member that frequents this board, and maybe he has heard of this person. Please keep us posted on the outcome of the transaction.

Good luck!

Hi. I live in New Brighton, MN which is about 5 minutes from Blaine (both suburbs of the Twin Cities). Is there anything I can do? Do you have an address or number? I can possibly check him out for you. Sorry I haven't heard of him though...

I don't know what you could do, maybe help me with the # for the local county sherriff? I don't know if there's any legal recouse on something like this, but I'm willing to try about anything right now. I'm so mad that he would put these poor snakes through a week long voyage from hell. Not to mention the money I've lost.
I have his address and phone #, but since he's not returning phone calls, I doubt they will help much. However I do want to contact authorities an see if there are any charges I can file for animal abuse or fraud.
Anyhow, if you can think of anything else to do with the info, he ya go:

I bought 26 baby burmese from him, and he send them on Thursday, ground instead of air, so they're stuck in a UPS holding facility, and they say they can't find one package and pull it out to help me. I betcha if I told them there was a bomb in that box they'd find it! Anyhow, so we're just praying the snakes make it ok, they'll be here Wednesday.

Thanks
Allison

Allison,
The number for the Blaine police is
(763) 784-6700.

The 952 prefix is for the southwest suburbs, while Blaine is in the north/northeast. The number you have would not be his real phone number unless he didn't live at the address he provided. There is a number listed for Janet Morin though at the same address. It's (763) 780-2307. Must be his mom or something, or he gave you someone else's phone number. Hope this helps!

Unfortunately I paid in cash via Western Union. I had hoped to get the snakes by the weekend and didn't want to hassle sending a Money order so we agreed on Western Union. Let me tell you this will be the last time I ever pay cash up front to someone I don't know!
Live and learn. I just want to make sure justice is served to him, so he's not getting away with murder of these snakes. Of course I'd love to get my $ back too, but the cruelty of letting them freeze it driving me nuts!

Anxiously waiting for the outcome

Allison,

I was rather hoping that UPS would have found the package, noticed the "alert" on it, and maybe gotten them to you by Monday.....but I'm guessing that didn't happen.

Please let us know if any of those babies managed to survive the trip after you receive them.

26 little pythons. *sigh*

This one bothers me ALOT.

UPS Frustration

Yeah, I hoped. I finally got ahold of a nice man at UPS today, a supervisor that was able to tell me what was going on. Apparently when UPS ships cross country, they set up large 6x8 bins full of boxes that are sorted by their final destination, so the box would not be coming out of this cargo casing until they reached my local facility. So he told me to watch the tracking today, and to call back as soon as it hit the local facility and I could go out there, only 45 minutes from home, and pick up the box. Go figure I just checked 15 minutes ago, and sure enough the truck arrived at my local facility at 8:56 PM pacific. Unfortunately, thats 11:56 EST and UPS Customer Service closes at Midnight eastern. So I'm stuck waiting until the morning again! But they reopen at 7:30 AM EST, and you can bet I'll be up at 4:30 AM my time to call them and get the box as fast as possible!I'll definately have them as early in the morning as I can and I will tell you how this continues to work out from there.
Thanks to everyone for the prayers passed out for these little guys and I just continue to hope that they'll be ok when I get them in the morning.
Then comes dealing with the nasty man who did this, I wanted to have the box here before I contact the police and FBI to file charges, but as soon as it's here I'm contacting them to make sure he is penalized for Animal abuse at the very least.

Hi Allison, I was hoping that they arrived safe on Monday. That's a long time for those poor little "critters" to be in a box. I'm still praying they're okay. I guess we'll find out Wed.
Warm them up slowly and take pics if anything is wrong.
Good Luck, Rob

You should try calling the UPS station, you might be able to get it tonight if you let them know what is going on. I've had a couple lost shipments that arrived very late at the UPS station and I just talk to them before hand, walk in, and demand my package, works evey time. Just talk to the person running the show at night and ask them if it wold be ok. Also, you have to talk directly to the UPS station, e-mails sent via UPS's computer system will not work, they will not look at them until morning.
Thanks
Justyn

Any idea where to find the # for the local station. I looked in the phone book and all it gives is the 800#
That's why I'm still here. If you have any ideas on where I could find the # I'd be down there in a heartbeat!
All I know is that it's located in Renton WA
Thanks!
Allison

Sorry, not renton, REDMOND. They sound and look so similar, even me, locally born and bred, I still get them mixed up!

Although it is already too late, when you go down there (the UPS Station) ask for the number direct # to the UPS station for future uses.
Thanks
Justyn
