I understand that there are questions for me...I am here to hopefully answer all that I can.
As for who I am: My name is indeed Michele Sinayi Hurt and most everyone knows me as Mickey (my nickname acquired at birth, thanks to my mom). I am the owner of 5 Star Reptiles and am responsible for daily operations. I do live in Arlington, TX; that is not a secret and obviously from the simplistic ways of the internet and some of you who have jobs in investigative practices, can and has easily been verified.
I appreciate everyone’s concern and interest in how and where I acquired my animals. Yes, Tony Hurt is legally still my husband; however, my personal legal options of dissolution are fully engaged. As for my personal life and my past/future, I appreciate my privacy and have high expectations that I can maintain that privacy. I am not happy about the public posting of information that was not intended for this website, and at the same time I realize everything that has been researched and posted here regarding who I am and where I came from is technically public information. The information that was obtained from my high school alumni web page was intended to be used/viewed there and was not written or intended to be posted here. I also realize with a rare Maiden name, it wasn’t hard to find that information.
As for my business: I do own the animals in which I represent and am selling and I did not, nor have I represented myself as such, produce them with my own two hands. I can say however, I did for years and will continue to sacrifice what is appropriate and within reason to ensure they are provided with exceedingly high, quality care.
For those of you who know Tony and have met me on several occasions, know that snakes have not been my passion, but his; however, I challenge you to think, for more than just a second, that I can, will and am taking on this business.
When it comes to my work ethic and principles, I pride myself on being an exceptional leader in the business world. Leadership and business principles are my work passions. My children and family are my personal passions.
As a strong and engaging businesswoman in this community, I am not willing to compromise my image or principles on behalf of anyone else’s mistakes. I can and do carry myself daily, utilizing the resources and support that I have built and continue to maintain. I hold myself and those around me accountable for their actions and am fully aware of what it takes to run this and any other business. While I am not the specialist or expert in breeding reptiles, I have surrounded myself with people who are specialists and experts and who are willing and committed to helping me answer even the most difficult of questions. If I don’t know the answer, I am not afraid to say so and I will find the answer. This demonstrates my own commitment to self-direction and customer satisfaction.
For those of you who have inquired about my animals, who I have sold animals to, or who are thinking of inquiring, please take note…I am not Tony Hurt in a skirt (Lord help us all, that really is a scary thought!)…I am my own person, I am female and I am open for business.
For the questions regarding where the money goes: For paypal: yes, it goes into a paypal account named to Anthony Hurt (which I am working on changing), but it ultimately ends up in my checking account.
As for Tony’s past business transactions: I, unfortunately, am not privy to all of the details, but am slowing working on piecing the puzzle together. I do believe that there are 2 sides to every coin and am a strong proponent of evidence. I also know that for many years, many of you have come in and out of my home, have been hosted and welcomed on many occasions (although some may have been more stressful than others) and have been engaged in very good and strong business transactions with Tony. Tony is infamous for not returning phone calls or replying to emails. He is also known for being very passionate about his animals and generally, about this hobby if you will. I realize that because we share a name, concerns are going to surface, but I assure you we are very different people in many ways, specifically in how we view, run and manage business ventures.
As for my daily availability: I work fulltime, commute to Dallas from Arlington 5 days a week and have 2 active, young children (as you all have read courtesy of previous BOI posts). I conduct business in the evenings and on weekends. So please don’t be discouraged if I am not available or as quick with replies M-F between the hours of 5:30am and 10:00pm.
I hope this information serves a good and right purpose and I am willing to come back as many times as necessary to defend my “good-guy” name (do you think I can get a “good girl” heading?). I am certain that you will all let me know if I have missed anything.
Kind regards,
Mickey Michele Sinayi Hurt
