• Responding to email notices you receive.

In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    Addendum: 01/10/2026
    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Well, I just wondered if anyone had done business with the people over at www.allthatslithers.com I paypaled money to them on Friday for a pair of 05 het for albino kenyan sand boas and have had slow responses from them. I have been doing reptile related purchases and sales for the past eight years, with two of those last years being online and have yet to be taken for a ride (knock on wood). They did hold these guys for me for three days until I could get back in town to transfer the money in order to paypal them, so maybe I am just being paranoid since this transaction is progressing far slower than what I am used to. I told them that I would like to talk about shipping for arrival tomorrow on Friday, and had to email again Saturday in order to get a response as to why it was taking so long. The lady emailed back and said that they were sick and she would talk with her partner about it. (That was yesterday). Havent heard a word from them today, given them my phone number so they could call if they wished. Still nothing. Planned on doing some X-mas shopping tomorrow if they arent coming, but I am scared that they did ship and just didnt email (as they seem to be slow responders) so Im kind of leary to leave the house. Help! What should I do-should I be concerned about the delayed emails or is it all in my head? (I guess the quick transactions in the past with Alex Hue, Herp Station, Australian Addictions, Cheryl Marcheck, Pets Go Round, and Tim Koppenhofer have ruined me!!) Anyone have any experiences they want to share??

Ok, You emailed someone on Friday (the last full shopping weekend before Christmas) and here it is Monday. You think this is a slow response? They responded they were sick and not everyone works on weekends. I would say you are being impatient.

Just a side note
I would never ship an animal this week. It is just too crazy.

Maybe you should just postpone today's shipping just in case. After all you asked them to ship for today's delivery, and they were going to discuss it. In MHO it's better to be safe than sorry. One day delay in your Christmas shopping will not be a huge deal. On the other hand by not being there you are putting the animals health/life at risk if they decided to ship.

Regards.

I agree with Dennis, I think you're being a bit impatient, especially at this time of year, going thru a weekend, and with them explaining that they were ill......and also on the fact that I wouldn't even consider shipping an animal the week of Christmas, it's just too busy, and if a screwup in shipping is going to happen, this is the week for it, with the huge volume of everything being shipped at the last minute for Christmas gifts.

I can understand you being impatient to hear from them since they DO have your money, but I think I'd give them a bit more time before getting too worried.

I wasnt trying to push them to ship today, but I would like a heads up instead of having to email over and over again to get a response. Maybe I am being impatient, but I have always been prompt with emails. After all, I am a college student who collects reptiles on the side, so money doesnt grow on trees for me, and delays in speaking with me worries me since you hear of soooooo many bad things going wrong here on the BOI. If they didnt ship thats fine, but I would at least like a confirmation that they plan to ship sometime next week, and that I am not being ignored.

The link provided is down or not renewed. Did you ever get a phone number? Or write it down?

I've dealt with Chuck and his wife Amber in the past and have had no problems whatsoever. They always emailed me back promptly and they seem like real nice people. I wouldn't hesitate to do business with them again if they had something I wanted.

Hope that helps to alleviate your fears. The advice others have offered you to avoid all live shipping during the holidays is right on the money. Most carriers are screwed up even without a heavy delivery schedule like x-mas. I myself have postponed all live shipments until after the holidays are well well over. Also keep in mind the volume of returns these carriers will be handling/bouncing around after the holidays are over as well. Discuss it with your seller, but I would definitely give the carriers some time to return to normal operation.

Happy Holidays........

Sorry, the link should read www.allthatslitherz.com. I would discuss holding off on shipping if I could get a reply from them (and I havent really forced the shipping issue, other than to let me know that they are coming some time or another), the lady stated Sunday she would talk to her partner to see what the best possible day for shipping would be, thats fine other than the only day a week I can receive is Tuesdays since they only ship Mon-Wed and I am not at home to receive on Wed and Thurs. They are aware of this. Havent heard from her since Sun. Anyway, just wanted a heads up, thats all, to make sure that they are reputable. Thanks to all that replied, just wanted to hear from someone who had done business with them! :)

For those of you keeping up with this thread, I am still being ignored by these guys. I have sent three emails to them concerning shipping since the last one I got from them which stated they would discuss which day to ship and still no answer. Last email from them was on Sunday. I know it is near the holidays and all, but I really feel like they should have held off on posting any classified ads if they did not plan on continuing excellent customer service through the holiday season. I do not have a telephone number for them, but I am going to give them until next week to contact me about shipping and then I plan on turning it over to Paypal. I just want some information on where my snakes/money is thats all, and I dont feel like that is too much to ask for.

YYYYEEEAAAAYYYY! I finally got an email!! Planning on shipping for arrival Tuesday or Friday. Whew.....got a little worried for a few days.

Just to clarify things, they are planning to ship either Monday or Thursday? So you know UPS is not shipping on Monday.

I believe FedEx is closed Monday 12/26 and Tuesday 12/27.

Regards.

We had an emergency package shipped to us Fedex next day air on Tuesday....it SHOULD get here TODAY, which is Friday. But if it doesn't.....it wil be stuck "in transit"somewhere til Tuesday. That's a WEEK for a next day package.

I can't believe ANYONE would want to ship an animal this time of year. :ack2:

Thanks for the heads up on the closings guys. I will let them know....its not so much that they just HAVE to get here RIGHT THIS SECOND as it is that I wanted to know that I wasnt being ignored......I have waited SIX MONTHS for a snake before. As long as I am kept updated as I feel I should be then waiting to ship is not a problem for me. Late is better than never of course, and I am concerned for the welfare of the critters for sure. Never had a DOA yet knock on wood, on either the shipping or receiving end and I want to keep it that way. If they feel shipping is a no go next week that is cool by me, I just want to make sure that communication will continue to occur.
