Responding to email notices you receive.

In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I think that Webslave should start a new list next to "suspended Members" or others of the like entitled " the do not buy from list" with bearded pets as the "poster child" for the list and all the people that have been ripped off can put thier names on it with thier details (even lock it so no replys can be posted to the items so it only shows the list of burned people and thier details) so people will know just how bad they really are. and wouldn't have to search through the BOI or archives.

This may seem like a very good idea Nicholas, but you do have to remember that the BOI is here so people can make thier own decisions about certian sellers. Even though there are a few sellers that are abvious scum, it would be unfair to have them on a list as you mentioned.
I myself have a list with about 25 names on it. I started my "don't buy here list" a few years ago and I ad to it every now and again.

The email in the contact info is different, but on the page it says to contact [email protected], and that's the email that I have been in contact with for more than a week now trying to get my money back for a pair of het albinos that never shipped.
Good news is, since I saved all the emails back and forth and my paypal receipt, it looks like I may have a decent footing for legal action if the guy doesn't pay up.

Hasnt anyone filed a claim thru paypal for these purchases?
I find it hard to believe their account hasent been frozen by now yet they are still advertising they accept paypal.

I currently have a claim going through Paypal. Jon just tried to get me to cancel the complaint I lodged because it was "blocking him from depositing the money" to give me the refund. After contacting Paypal's customer service number, though, I found out that this is not true. A complaint on an account blocks a user from withdrawing money from that account, but it does not affect a user's ability to deposit money on that account.
So, until I get the refund or until paypal pulls it from his account, his paypal account is frozen as far as withdrawals go.

Good to hear, Everyone who has been scammed by this individual needs to file a complaint. I would recommend linking your claim to this thread. They may actually view it when reveiwing the case!
I'm sure if enough of them pile up his account should be closed within the next thirty days effectivley limiting his ability to take advantage of people through online sales. Good Luck.

Honestly, I'm glad he's viewing it. I have told "Jon" upfront every thing that I have done and am doing to try and get my money back. All he does is stall and ask for another two or three days to get it.
I sent you the money, "Jon", so I know you have the money to refund me. You have until 10/14/2004 to refund the money before paypal does it for you.
I'm still hoping to get this resolved between us, but bottom line is, one way or another I'm getting my money back. If paypal has to take action to get it, fine. If the IFCC has to take action to get it, fine. It would be much easier on both of us if you just gave me the refund. But I don't really believe that will happen any time soon.

I just received my refund from Bearded Pets. Once the funds clear, all complaints will be dropped. Took a little longer than I would have liked, but that's okay. Things can happen that we don't have control over.
I don't know about others' experiences with this company, but mine has kind of left me neutral on the subject. Others may have their opinions, but I am happy right now. I got my refund, we got everything straightened out, and this are smooth.
For anyone out there that has pending issues with this company, I wish you luck in resolving them.

I tried to file a complaint with paypal but they said if I received the goods, there is nothing they can do. Like I have posted earlier, I received the goods, but they were wildcaught junk and one died a few days later.
I did file with the IFCC and I have been in touch with the authorities in Gwinnett County, Ga. They are currently conducting and investigation and until I get my money back I will not stop. All I ever wanted was my hard earned money back, but if Jon wants to play hardball, fine. He might be sitting in a jail cell soon.

Nuetral?? Please don't take this wrong but if it were me in your shoes, I can promise you I wouldn't be feeling "neutral" about Bearded Pets....they've lied, stolen, misrepresented FAR too many times for that.
Like I said, I'm happy you got your refund, I just feel sorry for everyone else who hasn't....I will not rest on this subject. I'm seriously considering taking some time away from the online herp community for awhile, because I am so freaking sick and tired of all the BS....feeling neutral about a dick like this is 110% completely unacceptable in my book....sorry, just my opinion. I'm sure you're a great guy with good intentions, afterall you wished everyone who has ongoing issues with him well, so forgive me if this is reading somewhat harsh, but Bearded Pets are absolutely, positively, the WORST peddler of live harmless reptiles on the entire freaking planet....
