    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I was contacted by these people regarding an ad I posted that said I was looking for a CB adult female BP. They are actually only about 30 minutes from where I live and they said they had a few to choose from. Here is where I got a little nervous. I asked to come by to see the snakes and pick the one (or more) that would fit with my future breeding plans. They told me the snakes had been moved to a relatives house and they could not allow a "stranger" to go into the house and if I wanted to pick one I would have to wait until they were back with them (whenever that would be) or they would send me pictures and could meet me somewhere with the one I wanted. They also said the snakes are not tame. Is it just me or does this sound fishy? My ad said I wanted pics and prices. So far I have no pics, no price, and no way to see the snakes from these people. I really doubt I want to do business with these people now. My gut feeling is that they are going to get an import female and meet me somewhere with it so I have no idea how to track them down later. Saying none of the ones thay have are tame also makes me think it would end up being an import instead of a CB one.
Am I being too suspicious? Has anyone dealt with them before?
 
I have dealt with edward and his wife i cant think of ehr name they are very good peopl i have boughtg a few animals from them the pictures they sent me were of the snakes i traded for so they are legit people

Well, it's been a week since I asked them for pics of the animals that were available. No response from them. I am now following up with other people who have contacted me with BP's for sale since it doesn't look like these people are serious about making a sale. How friggin hard is is to take a picture? Borrow a camera if you have to. No pic=no deal with me. No response from them also seems to indicate they are not interested in making a sale.
Glad you have had good results with them but I am not sure if I will do business with them.
 
Forget about them.
It's been a few weeks and they are not answering emails (even though they have posted snakes for sale on KS) since I last asked them to provide pics.
Their loss.
It may have only been a "normal" BP but I refuse to buy anything without at least seeing what it looks likes.

If you remember correctly I told you that we were have our landlord come in to do repairs to our home so that he could have it refinanced, and so we did not have them at our home. (Not that it is any of your concern). The reason I did not reply back to you is that you were looking for a high white female, which I did not have, so instead of wasting your time and mine, I did not reply back. I'm sorry if this gave you the wrong impression, but we are very legit.
As far as seeing them at our families home, I really appreciate them (who are not reptile people to begin with) even helping us out in this situtation. So I am defintely not going to bring any extra burden on them, having people that I DON'T EVEN KNOW come into their home to look at a snake.
Do you honestly think I would have replied in the first place, and tell you that I'm local if I had a problem with you seeing my animals? Its people like yourself who hurt small breeders by passing your negative assumtions. I have excellent references and more than willing to share them with anyone who is interested.

Not Trying To Mkae A Big Issue!

Not trying to make an issue out of this but our name, reputation, and quality animals are very important to us. So just to back up what I said in the previous post I found all the email exchanges that were made between steve and myself except for the last one, when he was looking for a high white female:

I have a few hold backs from last year ranging from 350 grams to 550 grams, all are feeding, but I can't say that they are all pet like tame, and one is kind of shy if you know what I mean. All have been handled through cleanings and in general handling but I wouldn't suggest them for someone who is not familiar with BP's. Let me know if your interested and I can send pics and exact weights of each. I am also in Ct. so that may be more convient for you. Also the prices will depend on what your interested in.

if you didn't have what he was looking for, why not just send an e-mail to him TELLING him you didn't have what he wanted, instead of ignoring him??

instead of spending 30 seconds doing that, you've hurt your reputation. probably not by much, granted, but every little bit counts.
 
I must be missing something, but I don't see any request for a high white BP anywhere.

Just curious why you didn't bother replying to his last email?

I totally agree that a return exchange should have been made, and in normal circumstances that would be the way I would have handled it. At this time I am back and forth taking care of all my animals, and since they are not in my home this is not an easy task. My animals are more important to me than to email about an animal I don't have.
It just frustrating when you try to give quality animals and good customer service, and then you read a inquiry that was just made to sound like we had something to hide or that we were going to sell animals that were not true to my descriptions.

You could have just gotten back to me and said the ones you had didn't fit what I was looking for.
The fact is my ad stated I was looking for a HIGH WHITE FEMALE BP. You answered that add and then left me hanging and never sent pics after you said you would.
If you didn't have what I was looking for in the first place, then why did you contact me.

I don't think that was how it was made to sound at all. I think he asked to see pictures of "normals" since he couldn't see them in person, and he was never responded to. That's the only point that was made.

Again, I see nothing about him asking for anything other than pics of the animals you contacted him about in response to his ad.

So, you got busy and didn't reply. End of story, but not the end of the world.

I agree. Hell, things get hectic here all the time. I just felt that they decided to ignore me and that is why I got upset.
 
i understand not writing back immediately because you get busy.

but maybe next time, still write back as soon as you can, explaining that things were hectic for a while, so you aren't thought to be ignoring anyone. even if it's a few weeks before you get a chance. i, for one, would prefer an eventual reply than none at all.

but then thet's me, and i'm really weird.

I'd have to say that the big three in business are Honesty, Communication and follow up.

It seems to me that you fell short on the communication part. It's obvious that you have personal stuff pending but, now a days people that don't know you and your good reputation may feel a little apprehensive dealing with you. Especially if they feel that you aren't in good communication with them. A phone call or an e-mail goes a long way towards building trust.

Steve's last line was "Am I being too suspicious? Has anyone dealt with them before?" This clearly shows apprehension. I don't feel that he was wrong by posting this in search of references.

It sounds like you have a good reputation and I don't feel that it's been compromised. A little better communication next time should keep you from taking the defensive on the BOI.

Just a thought.
 
OK. This is a dead issue now. I was able to make a trade with Slither and Swim for a female with the coloring I wanted.
