In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Inquiry on reptilleguru.com

I purchased 1.1 BHP's from Prehistoric Pets online last year and the transaction was flawless. Animals are great, price was fair, communication was great...if reptileguru.com is the same people, I wouldn't be concerned.

While I've not dealt with them personally, I've heard nothing but good things about the business they run. Several of my friends have purchased CBB monitor lizard from them.

Ive purchased a crested gecko from Prehistoric Pets.
I made an offer including shipping online (reptileguru), for $225, but realized the store was close enough for me to drive. (2 hrs)
When i arrived, i was told the owner had just left and I had to deal with the employees.
I explained to them that i had spoken to the owner via email and arrived at a price including shipping. They said the price was on the tank. I asked them to speak with the owner.
Several calls were made back and forth between the store and the owner about the price. I assumed since they didn't have to ship the gecko, i wouldn't be charged the cost of shipping.
I overheard one employee mention something about "more money" and i couldn't help but feel like i was being "milked." I asked several times very nicely to speak with the owner myself.
They told me that the owner doesn't talk to customers on the phone, and that the price I was quoted (with shipping, $225) was final.
After much disappointment i reluctantly gave in and paid $225, even though they did not ship anything. After all i drove all the way down there.
Then they tried to stick her in a paper bag. :(
i had to buy a KK.

In the owners defense, he admitted there was miscommunication, apologized and was very kind and professional.

I believe it was the actions of the employee that turned my experience sour. I wish i got his name.

Dandy! But did he refund the shipping costs?

Best

That was a very poor business decision on his part.

I purchased a Crested Gecko that was placed on Kingsnake.com and Reptileguru.com websites It stated that this gecko weighs approximately 28 grams is showed up weighing 18.2 grams.

Terrible business practice

I had a terrible experience, lost over $100 because they shipped two rocks in with a light bulb. Everything chipped or broke and they refused to file claim with Fed Ex. I waited three weeks and called Fed ex myself, nothing was filed. When I threatened to go to BBB, they told me to &^%$ off. Not very professional. I would advice everyone to stay away. I dealt with a man names Jim, one of the owners.

Buyer beware.
