Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Inquiry & Q's : RodentPro

I have ordered large orders from RP, mice Direct and Big Cheese. I have been satisfied with all of them. Rodent Pro usually has the best prices and good rodents with average quality packing. Mice Direct is a little more expensive usually and usually seem to be out of a size or 2 that I need. Big Cheese is a little pricier, but has the best, cleanest packaging of the 3. I picked up my Big Cheese order in Ft Worth and was able to save shipping costs, making the total a little less than PR. I just don't get to Ft Worth that often. BUt since this thread is about RP, I will definitely order from them again. Count me a satisfied customer.

BIG cheese is the best!!

Rodent pro is for those who cut corners, Big Cheese is for those who actually care about what there feeding there reptiles...period... I am there weekly and If there price was 3x the norm I'd still buy from them.. I have been to a dozen facilities and wharehouses over the years...Big Cheese rocks!!!

I've bought from RodentPro 3x already and never had a problem. When I first was preparing for such a venture, RP is what everyone told me. I've never had a issue with them, and I just completed my 4th order from them.

Until this thread, I had yet to hear anything bad about them, and I'm not made of money. In fact, I normally have fellow herpers go in with me for one order to split the shipping cost.

Decent quality and cheap prices are why I buy from RP.

I have been buying from Rodent Pro on a monthly basis for over a year. I keep Retics and Burms though so my orders are all rats and rabbits, but they've always been top notch. All of my animals are healthy and eating well, growing like weeds. I just can't think of any better place I've ever bought feeders from.

I only have one snake as of right now, but I ordered from them last fall and they had great customer service. The rats/rabbits that I recieved looked well and were packaged really great. I would continue to use them as I order in advance so it's never really a problem for me.

I have ordered from Rodent Pro and their service was great. There was only one wood shaving in one bag, which I noticed, but thought was negligible. They definitely did not smell rotten. Just like, mice... when you put them in warm water and thaw them out. If there are a few turds in a bag, that does not really bother me, seeing as pretty much everything poops when it dies... and besides, there is still more poop inside the gut of every animal our snakes eat, just because it passed a barrier and came out of the animal's rear does not suddenly make it toxic to my snakes... if this was a hygiene thing and they were laying around in their own poop prior to being killed, that would be different.

I have frozen my own rodents before and will add that even those of the pinks/fuzzies I froze myself ended up losing some limbs in the freezer due to me throwing the bags around digging in the freezer (I have many snakes of many sizes and every size of mouse and rat in my freezer so i have to dig!). I work with garter snakes mainly, and I usually end up cutting feet, arms, tails, heck even heads (never seen one of those broken off in a bag though) off the pinks anyways to mix with worms and fish to acclimate/feed to the babies. The broken pieces do not go to waste here. Since they don't vacuum pack the rodents, during handling and shipping and what not, being bumped around on each other probably lends a lot to the broken pieces at the bottom of the bag. Surely, they're not freezing amputee rodents and throwing some extra arms and tails into every bag! Things become brittle when they freeze, even bones and flesh.

I've been using Rodent Pro for 4 years. I buy in bulk most of the time, but sometimes I buy monthly. I have noticed over the years that there are certain times of the year that they can't keep up with the demand. So I try not to run out of feeders during those times. :) They usually have trouble filling orders in the winter and right after the Daytona show. The rest of the year I can get any size feeder any time. But it seems that when they run out, so does every other reputable feeder supply company.

Full names are required on the BOI...however, if they are in the user profile (to the left), they don't have to be included in the body of the post.

We've been ordering around $600-$800 worth of rodents from RP every month for about 3-4 years. I have never received a bag of stinky dirty rodents as some have described here. Overall their quality is good, packing is reasonable. I do know that they have issues with small rats in the summer- we try to order ahead and keep them up on what we'll need- and they try to make it work for us. I really can't think of any broken limbs on anything other than pinks- and I don't really notice that because pinkys always break easily. I can't remember ever seeing a missing head.

From what I can tell, everything about Rodent Pro is great (customer service, automated ordering, etc) EXCEPT the quality of their rodents. I've only ordered from them once, and was truely disgusted.... parts, stench, feces, mis-sized etc.

The Mouse Factory is more expensive, but puts out a superior product by far. I've been using them for many years now and will not use anyone else for rodents. My only complaint is that they are often out of something that I happen to need. Because of this, I placed an order with Big Cheese a few months back for some sizes that TMF was out of. They were way better than RP, but still no where close to the quality of TMF, IMO. I've also ordered from Mice on Ice in the past with good results.

TMF is the only way to go if you ask me.

My bad, I forgot to attach my name. It is on my profile to the left though for any of those looking and not sure if that matters or not.

WELL! I just got a big box of frozen rats from RodentPro.

I was kind of worried when I saw that it was shipped ground to Oregon.

They're here, they look very good, not oderiferous, they don't look freezerburned. They're clean, big rats and they're still frozen.

Dry ice is all gone, though. I was kind of looking forward to playing with dry ice.

I'll do this again when I'm down to my last week's rats.

Wow, I just have a hard time believing this. And if it's true, then why are you blasting them on a forum instead of taking the more appropriate and respectful approach and contacting them directly? I don't think they'd be so popular if they delivered the quality of product you are describing.

Like I said earlier, I had one instance where some rats were mis-sized and they definitely took care of me, refunding the difference. Ever since then, I routinely weigh any rats I think look like they might be mis-sized...every time they've weighed in within their published range.

I've been ordering frozen rodents for years myself as well. I've used many different places but have never been sent rotten feeders. That would be dreadfull.

Some feeder suppliers spend a little more time packing and keeping the turds off the rodents and charge more. If that matters to you and you've got the green then go for it.

I drive up and meet the rodent pro guy as I live about an hour away. I've fed off thousands of rodents from them with no issues.

The mouse fuzzies and hoppers seem to overlap too much sometimes but that's my only complaint.

Here's another thumbs up for Rodent Pro.

Ive placed 4 orders with Rodent Pro in the past....normally consisting of between 900-1300 rodents at a time. I will be making my 5th order before the end of June.

I couldnt be happier with Rodent Pro

I've spent thousands of dollars with Rodent Pro... their is a reason why they are so popular and so well known in the business..... because they're the best!

I only receive clean, fat, healthy rodents from RP.... their customer service is unmatched and they are very respectful on the phone. I wouldn't buy rodents elsewhere.... my animals such as lipstick sunglow and high dollar ball morphs thrive on their rodents. 2 thumbs up for RP!

RodentPro has great service and pricing however, in my opinion, they do not have a great product. I've ordered many times from them, TheMouseFactory, and once or twice from CajunMice. These orders have been frequent and have spanned over the past 5 years or so. What I've found is that, consistently, rodentpro's rats are covered in urine/feces, contorted, and are not consistently sized. This is not from just one 'bad seed' order I've gotten from them. Its from every order. The range of responses here surprises me.

TheMouseFactory, on the other hand, while pricier but also with great customer service, does have a great product. Their rats are always perfectly clean, very consistent in size, and not contorted. They also never have missing parts and they vacuum pack in much better packaging.

I have only used CajunMice once or twice and would rate their product on par with TMF.

Based upon my experience my recommendation is: If you have the money go with TMF. If you dont, rodentpro will suffice but dont expect a clean/consistent product.

Just got another large order from RodentPro. Everything was excellent. Clean , properly sized, well-packaged and on time. Time from order to delivery was 7 days. I am more than pleased.

I have been ordering from RP for a good while, and have always been 100% satisfied with their product. The rats/mice have always arrived to me clean and on time. Although, I have heard many people testify to the contrary, they have never been out of a product at any time that I have ordered.
