    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I have looked at the Reptibid site a number of times and even purchased some Bearded Dragons there. It seems to be designed along the lines of Ebay. Ebay provides significant protection against fraudulent sales: a combination of buying from a registered seller and using a credit card makes ones purchases at Ebay fairly safe.
Is the same true at Reptibid?
I know that I have in the past emailed Ebay with questions and the responses are fairly prompt, I get an answer within a day or so. I recently emailed Reptibid and asked if they would consider a sale by location feature (Ebay has this, and when purchasing large items one can find them locally this way without having to pay shipping, I have bought several aquariums using this feature), and although it has been 4 or 5 days I have received no answer.
Anyway, info and experiences about the site itself and its buyer protections would be most appreciated.

In my opion...

ReptiBid is not anything like Ebay. Myself and a few people I know have had various problems with ReptiBid. My number one complaint is the lack of response from administration there. Their "Live help" poeple are anything but helpful. My opinion is use at your own risk because there is not much chance of help from support staff there.

I Love Reptibid!

Lucille,

I have had only good experiences on Reptibid. I will not buy anything without a photo first and only after all of my questions are answered. I always look to see if they have feedback and always read it. I always ask how much shipping is and who they intend to ship with. If they are charging $35.00 and are planning on sending it for $15.00 through USPS, I will not even bother to bid.

Now if I ever were to buy from someone that did not have any feedback, I would come here first and post the name to see if anyone recognized this person or their address before I sent them my hard earned money. Also before you send them your money, insist on a phone number and actually call them. I did buy from one guy about 250 miles from me with no feedback, I told him that I would pick the animals up and he said okay, so I knew that he was okay. If the seller writes or sounds like a child, then call up the parents and talk to them to make sure that they are going to take responsibility for the transaction.

Even if you win an auction, you can still cancel it if they turn out to be shady. I would much rather take a Non-Paying bidder feedback then lose money.

Reptibid does not have any buyer protection, they are just an auction tool.
