I would personally never buy hets from someone I did't know personally unless they had a rediculously good reputation. Such as Sharp, Applegate, Love, the Barkers, Pete Kahl, etc. Spending what could be several thousand dollars in BP hets from Bob's BP Bonanza is not something I would do when there are many people out there with very good reputations that have the same animals for a few dollars more. When you deal with hets, and especially young hets, it may be 3 or 4 years before you know that you got raped on the deal. By that time who knows where the guy will be so a bad guy post 4 years after the sale doesn't really do much good. Just something to think about, hope it helps.

Well is there anybody here that has actaully dealt with him? I understand that buying hets is a gamble but somebody must have a good/bad experience with him they are willing to share.

Hi, I had a good experience with them. I can not say anything about the hets as I have never purchased any of those from them. I did buy some CB kingsnakes, and one as my own personal pet. They all came in well packaged and fed with in days of arriving. I would consider purchasing from them again.

Pending Bad Response

Well, I was hoping to be able to post something good here, but it's not looking like it's going to happen.

I purchased 4 wc balls from Bill Nelvin (Tropical Herps) , having had much success in the past getting wild caughts to acclimate. They were advertised as 1500-2000 grams and healthy.

First, he did not ship on the day I requested, and I hate receiving shipments on Friday. To boot, we had a cold front come in Thursday night. I requested a hold for pickup several times, but the package was not marked for a hold. Luckily I arrived at the facility in time for it to be found and pulled from the truck.

This was yesterday and they have good body weight for their size, are not parasitized, but ARE NOT the size they were promised to be. The two largest are 1445 & 1475 grams, and I would be nearly satisfied with them, if one of them did not have what looks like major scarring involving it's cloaca.

The other two are between 1000-1100 grams, which is about A POUND SMALLER then what I paid for.

I was promised a refund if not satisfied. However, my emails have gone unanswered thus far.

If Bill does the right thing, and refunds part of the money I paid, I will be satisfied. Regardless, the outcome will be posted here.

Do Not Deal With Them!!

I abought some stuff from them and they are horrable. All of my stuff is not doing good at all. They sent the most piss poor snakes, and did a horrible job packing them. They all have been "treated inside and out" but they still have worms and ticks. They were all under weight and i know they are are not selling true hets. They advertise the same animal under two different threads using the smae picture. DO NOT DEAL WITH THEM. I am giving you fair warning now. They are just selling wild caught ball pythons.

I purchased 6 LTC / WC females that were supposed to be between 1500 - 2000 grams, and came in between 705 & 1309 grams (1309, 1267, 1182, 1106, 931 & 705). I haven't had any luck getting them to feed (supposedly ate three jumbo's in the last three months). The following is some dealings I've had with them over e-mail (with no response). Also, they shipped two weeks after I purchased them. If I don't hear something back to the end of the day Friday, I am going to contact my local police department to find out what my options are.

I have a serious problem. Below is a copy of your classified ad as it appeared on kingsnake.com. I paid $500 for what should have been 6 adult ltc females weighing between 1500 & 2000 grams. What I recieved is 6 females weighing between 705 & 1309 grams (1309, 1267, 1182, 1106, 931 & 705). I can take pictures of them on the scale if you need them. I may be able to get two of them to breed this season (I've put two of them with my males), but question even that. I need you to contact me as soon as possible (preferably on my cell phone xxx-xxx-xxxx). I would prefer to swap out the four I haven't tried to breed for four that match the size in the ad (YOU SHIPPING FIRST, OF COURSE), but am open to your solutions. I'm really not sure how to handle this situation. . . I've never had this happen before. I would rather handle this between us, as opposed to getting Kingsnake.com, or the authorities involved (theft by deception -- I have your bank routing, and account #'s). Again, please give me a call.

Well, I finally received my replacement animals today. I accepted two females as resolution to the shipment I originally received, which was 1000 grams shy of the minimum weight it should have been, and contained a damaged animal. The new females weigh 1315 and 1375. It was certainly the worst internet deal (misrepresentation, poor communication, not shipped when requested) I've experienced thus far, but I am satisfied with how it turned out.

I'd also say to avoid them. I purchased a supposed cb pied het baby weighing an advertised 260g. I received a yearling at 600g+ that is very strikey, making me thinkg she's wc. I'm assuming it's a she, I haven't bothered sexing it yet as I hope to be receiving a refund soon. I emailed Bill Nelvin saying that nothing was matching in regards to the advertised and received animals. They actually asked me what wasn't matching. I'm guessing they advertise whatever they have on hand atm as a het and don't even keep track of what it is they are supposed to be selling.

They were supposed to send photos of the parents with the shipment. which never happened. The snake they sent and the photo of the snake I purchased aren't even close. The picture shows a tan circle count of about 22, reveived animal has 10. The oddball patterns don't match up anywhere.

It was very badly shipped. I had him hold off on shipping for a couple weeks because of the cold temps. When I finally asked for shipment, it shipped on the day I was supposed to receive it. I had rearrange my work week to receive, so that messed things up quite a bit for me. She was sent bagged in huge box filled with newspaper, no heat packs anywere to be found.

All orignal emails went through [email protected], paypal through [email protected], but all emails I'm receiving since I received have come through [email protected]. All original emails were signed as Bill Nelvin, since then just Trop Resolve. I've repeatedly asked for a phone number to contact them. After 3-4 requests I got an email saying they would call me, but they still haven't sent me their number. So I've decided to go through the email route so I can keep track of the conversation.

Last email I sent was 2 days ago stating they need to fix this problem, no response yet. I'm going to wait until Monday and then file with paypal.

So again, I'd say it would probably be best to avoid on this one.

I would be very cautious doing business with this person. There were extensive posts here on the BOI just a few weeks back on an experience with Bill Nevin taking a $600 deposit. At the same time I was having a very similar email interchange with Bill Nevin regarding some ball python hets. I planned to purchase 1.3 hets for albino for an agreed upon price. When he changed PayPal addresses to some "Happy Hippo.com" address it raised a red flag! I would not trust this individual for any future purchase.

Let us know if you actually had a positive experience with Tropical Herps.

I am one of the people involved in the long threads of Tropical herps/ unlimited morphs. they have both dissapeared off ks and now a very similar company called WILD EXOTICS has popped up. I inquired some information to include a Phone #, etc. from them and here is the response I received:

" No these are not proven,but will probably produce this year. Send me your number and I will give you a call at a good time"

They hit "reply" to my message, but took the time to erase everything I had said previously. This reply seemed rushed and short. They didn't give me a contact # and wanted to call me only. For someone who is selling animals that are listed at $3700.00 They surely don't have any CS skills or aren't legit. It seems they are covering their tracks !!!
Also, She (ms. crouton) just happens to be selling carpet babies and an albino burmese. These are the same animals that Bill Nelvin said he was getting into and was the main reason he was selling his ball pythons.
I am also skeptical about the carpet pythons b/c she states they are on frozen thawed and don't bite. I have had some experience with carpets and find those two characteristics quite rare, but she is selling 10 of them like that.
Just a peice of mind.
