John

I bought some baby pastel Red-Eared Sliders from Turtle Town two or three years ago. They were packaged great, on-time shipping, and the animals themselves were first-class. I would recommend Turtle Town to anyone.

Turtle-Town

I bought 3 turtles from them at the beginning of this year... all CB hatchlings. 1 of them was obviously sickly & lethargic. I let Shawn know about it immediately. I gave him a few updates explaining that it still hadn't eaten & was looking bad. After about 2 weeks it died. Shawn only offered to "make it up to me", but did not replace the animal. The other two turtles are alive & well. Had it been a more valuable animal, I would definitely have raised a little hell about it.

I have dealt with Shawn for a few years now , there were times where I have had problems with turtles and he has always gotten back to me and made thing right , hatchlings can be difficult and I have lost a few , and again he has always offered me another turtle , the shipping is extra but this is clearly stated in the terms and conditions page , I have never lost a turtle that was in a higher price range and if I ask what the condition of the turtle he is selling is in he is always honest and upfront , and he also lists discounts on turtles that have nipped tails or missing a toe or claw , even if you are a first time buyer he will do something to rectify the situation , it can never be said you get ignored , if he gets to know you and you do business with him a few times he will even go further to help you out , I had one turtle die that I did have for over 2 months , I did'nt email him about it , I belong to a forum that he has joined , I only posted that this turtle died and how I felt sad because the turtle was special to me , I did not mention where I got it , he posted how sorry he was that this happened and wondered if it was one I got from him , well the next day I got a box shipped to me with a much more expensive turtle in it , with a simple note that said " Hope this helps cheer you up , Shawn " now that is what I call a fantastic dealer and a person that truly cares about what he does and his turtles , I WOULD ! recommend Turtle Town to anyone without question , without hesitation .

I have dealt with Shawn on several occasions and he has always gotten back to me, answered my questions, and sent me turtles in good time with excellent packaging. I have also spoke with him on the phone about a diamondback I got from him.

Just two weeks ago, I bought some common maps from him and 3 of the 4 died due to unknown reasons, however, when I contacted him about it, he offered to replace them.

I would definately recommend him and know many many others who have dealth with him and would also highly recommend him.

I must confess , I gave turtle town a great rating and have gotten help and answers to my emails and had turtles replaced that died and even got a few free turtles added into orders , part of it may be due to the fact that I have purchased quite a few turtles from turtle town over the past two years but this does not imply I did not have some problems with more than my share of turtles purchased from turtle town , I don't like the shipping method and I don't like hatchling turtles dying suddenly for no apparent reason , or receiving some with skin fungus that is difficult to cure and some have died from it , so to be fair yes I have had success but that amounts to 50 % of the time , sure it's true that many hatchlings don't survive but I think the percentage of loss is a bit high and in many cases the shipping costs more than the turtle , I can,t say he has not been fair or has not really tried to help but I can't say with a clear conscience at this point in time that I would purchase any more turtles from this source without the concern that I may very well wind up with a turtle with a problem and cases of fungus and shell rot or deaths are the problems I have encountered , I have kept turtles for over 40 years and can spot fungus or shell rot at a quick glance and always check a turtle over well before I set it up in a permanent home or setup in my care and if I felt I caused the problem with any turtle I received I would say nothing but when they arrive with a problem then this is a different story , I have mentioned the shipping method , I have not had a turtle injured by shipping or a box crushed but it would not take much of a mishape for this to accure , I have had a few large turtles sent in a box that only allowed an inch of space between the cardboard and the turtle this is to much of a risk in my opinion , I would say shear luck played a major roll in some or the turtles getting here without injurys .
