In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

INQUIRY: Wes Pollock of Los Angeles, CA

Ed Clark said:
Sam, have you ever transacted any business with Wes Pollock? or are you just backing a buddy with this post?

Ed, that's when I will feel the need to justify anything to you. Seriously, bro.

You ever step in gum Ed? Get it stuck on the bottom of your shoe? Every step you take you can feel the slight resistance of the gum trying to stick to both your shoe and the ground. Ever take a stick to dig that gum out, throw it away and never think of that exact piece of gum again? Gum, Ed. Gum.

Never stepped in gum but I was out in a cow pasture....... Kind of like that Sammy? ;)

Ah, crap.... I now remember why I felt deja vu while in that pasture. I stood there thinking I was smelling something familiar. Now I realized it was simply Ed's reputation that I was smelling. Go figure.

:iagree: I've also done business with Wes. I sold him a sub adult albino boa several years ago when prices were considerably higher and the transaction went flawlessly. Prior to this deal, Wes only had positive BOI threads on me to trust his money would not be at risk.
As mentioned early on in this thread, I met Wes several times in person the weekend of the the NARBC Anaheim show 2 years ago. He went way out of his way twice (along with Laura Fopiano) and took the time to assist me in an attempt to get my animals back from Kim Felts. He had nothing to gain but the reward of knowing he was trying to help a fellow herper who had been ripped off.
I've also seen the quality of Wes's animals at his booth at the NARBC show. Each and every one of them appeared fairly priced, outwardly healthy, active, and were outstanding specimens. Had I worked with colubrids, there's no way I could have resisted buying one. They were that nice!
So, who is Wes Pollock to me? A guy that trusted a perfect stranger with his money, unselfishly offered help when needed, who sells gorgeous animals at great prices. Sounds like a good guy to me.

Also, he went out of his way to help Kelli. He drove to the bad guy’s house and recovered some animals for her.
How many people here would actually drop by a scammer’s house to help someone out? Not many.

I've now purchased from Wes in 2005, 2006 and now 2007. I'm completed satisfied with those transactions. I picked up a nice trio from Wes this year.

Although I have never had a transaction with Wes, he is one of very few individuals I haven't met in person yet would be willing to purchase an animal from sight-unseen. I don't care if people think he's a big bad meanie or if he occasionally makes people cry. If you're an adult with a decent sense of honesty and integrity, you have nothing to fear. That has always been and still is my honest opinion of the man.

...and by very few individuals, I mean very, VERY few.

If they don't have tails... What do Jedi's tuck between their legs when they run??? I think the "force" is going to need a lot of work after this!

Ed,

Just so you are aware, Wes does have great animals and business ethics. I have seen his animals in the past, purchased from him, and spent this weekend with him at NARBC. His animals were just as nice as last year and his false water cobras are the best I have seen around. I am not sure if they get any better then his. Not that it really matters to you because of your distaste for Wes, but I am a first hand witness.

To those who do want to do business with Wes, go for it, you will be quite pleased.

I think one of the jedi twins musta put the hand wave on Ed for him to try and go after Sammy like that. :NoNo:

Speaking of Jedi knights :ack2: Where'd they go? You two come here and try to make Wes look bad, then disappear. What's the matter? Did the force leave you on this one? Sorta backfire on you? LOL

Some people just never learn.

Wes is an Ass but he is an honest upstanding straight shooting ass.

The problem is just what Paul said above ""I don't care if people think he's a big bad meanie or if he occasionally makes people cry.""

Wes comes down hard on those who do bad things to the Pooch and some of those who have felt the sting of his written words look for any opportunity for a little revenge such as this thread.

I've never done business with Wes as he isn't into the same animals as I am but if he had something I wanted I'd buy from him in a heart beat. His business reputation precedes him and is one of the best in this business...Randy

I agree. Honestly, given the inevitable presence of certain less desirables in the reptile trade/hobby/industry/whatever, I think as a whole we all benefit from a little 'Wes' on occasion. I think he serves an important role, one that I wouldn't have the savvy or gumption to fulfill. So... thanks, Wes. Thanks for looking out for us. :yesnod:

Not only

have I bought from Wes, but have met him in person and thoroughly enjoyed his wit and company.

I agree with you on this for sure. :yesnod:

I have not done business with Wes (ummm... this thread IS about Wes, isn't it?), but I would not hesitate to do so in a heartbeat. I have had the pleasure of vending at several shows with Wes, and his snakes are outstanding specimens to behold. So are his ethics, knowledge, and customer service.

I don't worry about being on the wrong end of Wes' stick because I have nothing to hide.... unlike a few others around here, it seems.

Wes is a good guy, and all of my business transactions with him have been nothing less that wonderful. He's one that will go out of his way to make sure you understand exactly what you are getting, and he's 100% honest with all his dealings.
