    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I am interested in letting my leos breed. I keep them caged seperate though and dont want to cage them together perminately. Is it better to put a male in a female cage, female in a male cage, or put them both in a different cage? I cage my leos in boaphiles that are the condo units types. Each unit is about 1' wide x 2 feet deep. I dont know if theres enough room in there to put enough hides for 2 humid, 2 hot, and them all be on the heat pad. Might be kind of crowded. I do have an extra vision cage thats about 2'x2' wide I could have them mate in that and thats big enough for 2 humid, 2 hot and 2 cold hides with enough space. Not sure what would be best to do in that case. Put female in for a week by herself, then introduce male and let them stay together for about a week then put them back into their individual cages? Put male in first then female?
 
ok so first of all i would put the male into the female enclosure so you are not puting as much stress on the female. For the amount of time that they will be together the 1' by 2' cage will be big enough for them. You also shouldn`t need to put in two of each hide unless the two of them start getting terratorial in that case you should seperate them and try it again later.

If you were to use the 2' by 2' cage then i would start by puting the female in first then when you know that the female is eating well then introduce the male and same thing goes you shouldn`t need two of each hide and if they do start getting terratorial then seperate then and try again later.

If the male starts biting the female that is normal, if the female is biting the male (which has happened to me) remove the male and try again in a week or so.

So basicaly what your saying is either cage will work. I have more pairs than extra 2x2 cages so it would be easier to use their normal cages. Seperate if they get teritorial. Mabie put 1 extra hot hide.
 
It would probably be easier to use the females normal cage so you don`t put as much stress and as far as puting another hot hide in that is completly up to you.
The only other thing that I would do that I didn`t previously state was that you should put in a hide for the female to lay the eggs in filled with whatever you plan on incubating them in.

Wouldnt that just be her normal humid hide? I then move the eggs to an incubator once they have been laid? I use a disposeable tupperware for humid hide with a decent layer of sphagnum moss.
 
That will work for a egg laying box it`s just that i didn`t know what you used for your humid hide becase i know that I use paper towel.
