In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Just got this in this AM and wanted to let him get used to his new home before we snapped any pics, he is an awesome leo and I am so proud to own him.

We have a giant that looks very similar in color and when I was looking at the ad on fauna my 5 year old screamed mommy thats my leo lol So I contacted Monte and we were able to buy him. When Cody asked who he was coming from and I said Monte he said oooooohhhhh I want to name him Monte so we did.

Here's a few pics, he is a great leo! These pics in no way do him justice, Ill get some outside pics in a few days that show his true color!

and again THANKS MONTE!!!!

Yeah, he is now in a place where he can hopefully eat mealies again. LOL

He is a good looking boy. I am sure that Monte will miss him.

yeah as much as I hate Monte has the mealie allergies Im glad we were able to get this nice leo, Cody has been still and quiet every since he arrived and was in his bin, he is just sitting there staring at him lol

I bet he will miss him too, he is a great leo!

aw he looks like a total sweetie!!! and he is very beautigul!!! i have several animals named after people....... i have the patternlss's glenn and marcia
i have a green tree named kelli.... a very sassy suri named charolette another boa named gus and i even jave a kevin lmao (these people are all breeders) and i have a bearded dragon named stevie after kelli's husband LOL

He looks right at home. I'm glad your son likes him Wendy.

I'm down to my original normal pair of leos - Geico and Studley.

He was feeding on mealies - i was just very careful and didn't have 5K in my house at one time.

BTW - the only similarities between Monte the gecko and me is that we both had large heads. I forgot that that boy had such a large melon. LOL.

Robin, that is cool, most of ours have weird names, like Batman, Robin, Flash, Mega Man lol Cody names them all. I was glad he picked a fitting name fo this great guy!

Monte he will be in mealie heaven here, I get 10,000 every 3 weeks lol And he does have a large noggin on him, now Im on the hunt for future wives for him lolol

Wendy, that is a GREAT looking boy you have there! My leos all have such different taste, but none of them are real crazy about mealworms,,, which is a bummer because I MASTERED the art of breeding mealies and had literally thousands of them last year! :) LOL, right now they are all hooked on supers, silkworms, and hornworms (which are a real pain in the arse to get).

Anyways, funny story about worms (I'm bored out of my mind right now!),,, My roommate and I have a bathroom that we share and that inter-connects between our bedrooms. Well, I have to be at work really early and she always wakes me up late at night because she has this habit of humming while she is getting ready for bed. :uzi: So last night I kept telling her to "shut up!" b/c she was humming and she was getting a kick out of making me insane. So I took a hornworm (a HUGE neon-green one that I couldn't feed to the leos b/c he was too big) and tried to shove him under the door at her. In the process of trying to get this fat worm under the door, I injured him and by the time he got through to her side, he was wiggling and writhing like he was possessed. I swear the whole city of LA could hear her screaming! :rotflmao:
That will be the LAST time she hums in the bathroom!

LOL, congrats on your new gecko,,, he is really beautiful!

Thanks Nicole and that is too funny, now I need to masted breeding mealies so I can raise them instead of buy them lol

When I first started reading this I was like “I didn’t ask where he came from.” I didn’t even name them let along sit there and look at them… it took me a few posts but I figured out that’s you son! LOL. You had me thinking hard…

lol I normally do jsut say "my 5 year old" due to possible confusion since his name is Cody lol

We also have a leo named Cody but not after you, will be working on that one later this year though!

Breeding mealies is no biggie...trust me! I've got a couple thousand 1/4" guys crawling around right now. The only tough part is waiting for them to grow big enough to be useful!

Great story about the worm and the roommate!

Yes,, it is definitely easy! I really did nothing but switch them out throughout their cycles, change their bedding/food as needed, and keep them warm. Lol, a true MASTER here! :dunce:

Now I am a bit confused (prob. since I am still new here),,, Monte are you really allergic to mealies? Not that it is strange or anything,, I got an allergy test done a few years back and found out that I was majorly allergic to roaches . . :erm: Ewww . . .

very nice addition wendy, i was thinking about scooping that guy up but i already have to many males, lol, he's beautiful though, good choice

all of my leos are named after somthing, human, or mythical, haha

Well, I haven't had formal tests but if I get any of the poop/dust in my face - or touch my face/eye accidently after handling mealies - My eys swell shut - I get wheezy - etc.

It'd say that's allergies . .

Yeah Id say that is allergies, kinda liek with our cat, its fine as long as I don't touch him, well I get conjested just from him being in the house but if I have to pick up the cat for Emily (she is almost 3) I sneeze for hours, my skin itches and my eyes get watery and burn and that's after being careful and washing my hands and takeing allergy meds lol

Teh problem I had with the mealies is the bedding, it would get moist and smell and Id throw them all out. This last couple of orders I did use a lid to a bowl for the carrots to stay off the dry gotload and have not had it smell so it may do better this time.

At $35 for 10,000 its not like its a big amount of money every 3 weeks but saving is saving lol
