In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Anyone heard much about this one, on the 14th (this Sunday)? I had marked down the date from their website, but haven't gotten any emails about it...or seen anything here...and then noticed there's a KC show on that date. Is the one in Des Moines still taking place? Anyone going if so?

I'm going! I went last year, it's really small but I'm 7 months pregnant and don't feel like driving three hours to KC or anywhere else for that matter :) I heard it used to be a lot bigger, but I don't think they do enough advertising to get people there so not a lot of vendors come. We Iowans should support our local show...I've been trying to invite as many people as possible to try and get it to grow a bit. Anyways, I'm rambling....maybe I'll see you there! My hubby and I will be there around 1:00ish. It goes from 10am-4pm.

The DesMoines show is still on. I'll be there vending, stop by and introduce yourself and say hello.

Cool!!

Yeah, I hadn't seen any advertising at all, so was beginning to wonder....does anyone have a vendor list at all?

I think I'm going to actually be able to get there, I just have to figure out how to get it to work around my weird schedule. I'll more than likely be there early in the day though, as I have to be to work Sunday night.

Well, that's more than I knew before. :)

Don't forget Jeremy Letkey! We know he'll be there.

Thanks, Jon.

Grrrr.....of all freakin days.....I get the stomach bug. I am SO peeved!!! Of course, I had already informed my other half that he would be helping me to pick out the birthday present he still owes me....and I can't move more than sprinting distance from the restroom. :censored: :bandhead0

Someone tell me they got some pics or somthing so I can see what I missed..... :(

Hi Cat,

I was there today, I have to say it was smaller than last year. There were no caging vendors, and the lack of Garrick's large display and snakes left a big gap. There was only one frozen rodent vendor that I saw, compared with many last year. Also no book vendors as there were last year. Dave Barker was also not there this year.

Let's see....

Bruce Delles of Twin Cities Reptiles had some nice pastel calicos, this was my first time seeing them in person.

Lee Van Hyfte had a gorgeous orange ghost female that was unfortunately not for sale...he apparently just wanted to tease me with her! :) He also brought a gorgeous pied for show.

John Dague of www.jdconstriction.com brought out his pastel axanthics, his one remaing axanthic male and a few pastels. He also brought his Ivory male and clown male which are both amazing.

Jim and Nancy Stepflplug were there. They had so much stuff I couldn't begin to remember it all.

I was hoping to see a pastel lesser in person, but alas, no.

I didn't get any pics because I spent all my money on snakes and so I have no camera!

Thanks for filling me in, Jon. I would have loved to see those pastel calicos too, and everything else for that matter. Not to mention getting to meet some of my fine fellow Iowegian herpers that I only know from Fauna or phone!

I know it's a smaller show, but with it being the only one even fairly close by, I am REALLY disappointed I had to miss it. I imagine that they lost some of the regular vendors to the KC show....

*sigh*

Well the Kansas City, MO. show is the 28th of Sept. Many of the Des Moines vendors are there, plus more. Plan now, and come to KC! (their site does have a vendor list!)

There will be a great selection of quality captive-bred and select wild caught reptiles available at this show. There will be vendors from all over the mid-west exhibiting and selling these animals at less than retail prices. This will be a great opportunity for you to hand select the reptile you have been looking for without the need for shipping. This is a great venue to bring your family to experience the reptiles up close and personal. We will have boas, pythons, colubrid snakes, geckos, chameleons, bearded dragons, turtles, tortoises, cages, feeders and much more available at this show.

We look forward to seeing you there!

The reason that Last years November Show was bigger was because we were the host to the 23rd Annual Midwest Herp Symposium, this years show that went on this last weekend was just the local show the Iowa Herp Society puts on every year, and for the most part was the the same size it's always been, I went and it was pretty decent for Iowa and I was able to pick up a few nice animals. Aside from the that, the show that is coming up on the 28th of September in KC is the Midwest Reptile Breeders Expo hosted by the KC Herp Society, you can go to www.kcherp.com and there should be info on that website, I plan on going, should be a good time.
