    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Woot! wonderful! Am new in this state, moved from FL, so am going just to see how the show goes.

It is not a bad show, i go every year and always find something to bring home with me, this is the first year that there will be both a spring and fall show which is great, i am sure you will have fun.

Ha, well i hope its a good Show, is it always a different? or it is Basically the same every year, Kinda had my hopes set on geckos and cornsnakes. or is it on of the shows that pretty much only have ball pythons?

really this first year for 2 shows? Am so used to FL having like 20+ shows around me. so when i saw only 2 shows i was like :ack2: must not get many people. but i guess its growing? :yesnod: About how many vendors are there

It is a good show as far as Iowa goes, and I am sure you will be able to find what your looking for, I am not sure how this spring show will go as obviously this is the first spring show here. You can check out the vendors list here at http://www.iowareptileshows.com

) : drove there, walked around, 100% let down. there wasn't many leopard geckos,crested geckos where way over priced for me. but pretty, wasn't in to the boa's and python's...loved the bearded dragons..but didn't get any...only adult corns had been normals....first time i ever went to a reptile show and didn't get anything.... is that how is is every year?

I think overall it was a good show, couple things you need to remember is that this is the first spring show ever here, and it is still pretty early in the season, most people are just now getting eggs, most of the ball pythons that were for sale there was what breeders had left over from 09, the fall show always has alot more variety and i would encourage you to come to the next show in the fall. There were fewer vendors there today then normal I will admit that, but I did end up spending close to 1k there myself. Not to mention i persoanlly enjoyed the fellowship and hanging out with friends with the same interest as myself..... Shawn, I think I did see your daughter and son-in-law there, did they end up purchasing a couple of milks? talk to ya later man

Bob I totally agree with the Fall show being better you are right on target in what you said my Friend! This was a early show I personally stayed away from cause I had no MONEY!!!!!!

IMO...The Des Moines show is a Joke year after year. I quit going 5-6 years ago and I still hear the same thing from many people. Save your money and go to the K.City show.

Alot has changed in 5-6 years, first thing is that 5-6 years ago there was only 1 show per year and the Iowa Herp Society put it on, now there are 2 shows per year one in the spring and one in the fall that are not put on by the society anymore. Although the spring show is smaller than the fall show, I think it is still a cool little show to go to for those that do not want to drive several hours to see some cool herps. And to be totally honest with you, I have vended at the KC show a couple of times and I do NOT find it much different at all, Neither one are very big shows and it is my opinion that they are equally matched when it comes to variety.

i just don't go because it cost me the same amount in money in gas as it does just having reptiles shipped to me..But if i Lived near by..i would go just to pass the time and look.
