In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Is it me or does this guy look sick?

I realize I’m not the smartest person in the world but I just hate to see people miss represent animals and sell them to people who do not know any better. Here is the link to the add http://kansascity.craigslist.org/for/433536266.html and here is what I emailed him and what he replied back with.

Hi,

I don’t mean to be rude but if those are recent pics of your Ball than please take it to a Herp Vet!!! Ball Pythons do not hold their mouths open like that unless it has an infection and it also looks like it has bad retained eye caps. Please don’t sell a sick animals to someone that doesn’t know any better.

If you need the name of a vet please let me know.

Best regards,

Nathan

"your an idiot please dont inform me of anything regarding pythons because for one i know everything already and two he doesnt hold his mouth open I got a picture of him relocationg his jaw after a meal, and three when they shed they sometimes keep their caps for a day or two before they either fall off or i help get them off. So next time you want to try and help someone, think!! I have been dealing with snakes for a long time including breeding and a co-owner of a herp shop so i dont think i need your help. Thanks anyway to the idiot who likes to get involved before he knows all of his facts. I pity anyone who knows you"

It's hard to see the pics well, but it looks to me as if it is just finishing swallowing a rodent in the pic with the mouth open......and if you can see eyecaps, your eyes are a LOT better than mine, lol. Pics are too small for me to see much. :shrug01:

His comment about the eyecaps staying on "an extra day or two" is kinda off the wall though.

Looks like he has stuck shed on his back and the pic of his head looks bad. I don't think he just finished swallowing. I think he has health issues.

How the heck are you guys seeing that??? The pics I see look REALLY tiny.

You know.........the eyes are the first thing to usually go......

I'm with you Cat the pics look way too small on my computer to see them clear enough to make a judgement.

Steve???? Are you calling Cat and myself ummmmmm OLD???? :NoNo: :p

I got here too late to get in on the fun - the ad is gone.

Regardless of his comment about the eyecaps - the guy is a :censored:
(I copied his response for further use...of course, I will edit it to include capital letters and punctuation, lol)

I saved the pictures to my hard drive so I could make them larger.

Yeah this blind old lady wants to see them....... ummmm wait you had to make them larger? hmmmmm are you getting old too? :p

I tried but it won't let me save the changes. I could only play with it while it was open. Remeber, I'm the photographically challenged one here.

I'll send them to you. Maybe you can get them to stay bigger.

Not old....just....aging gracefully.

I also saved the ad so if anyone needs it let me know and I can email it to you. It also looks to big to just get 1 fuzzy a week….even if it is a rat fuzzy. This was my reply to the email he sent me. I don't think he will email me back or let me buy the snake.

I was not trying to offend you nor did I say I was an expert but those pics make your ball look like it has an RI. It is also not normal for a ball python to shed in pieces of any kind, it should shed in one whole piece. Generally when a ball sheds in pieces it means that the temp and humidity are not correct in it’s cage and/or that it is sick. Since your ball python is healthy I would be interested in buying it but I would like to see it first. I have over 20 balls in my collection and each and every one of them gets a yearly vet visit when they are healthy and when they show any signs at all of being sick they go to the vet right away. Just as precaution I will take this boy to the vet as soon as I get him and I would also like to get some references from you. Could you also give me the name and address of the store you co-own and tell me when a good time to come and see the snake would be.

Best regards,
Nathan

Not gonna go there.

I tried saving them and enlarging them too, but they just got too grainy to see any better....I probably need a better imaging program or something, then I could play with them and make them stay big too.

Well, expanding the images to 400% makes them blurry as hell, but this what they look like then

Here they are a bit smaller...still blurry, but maybe a little better if you squint your eyes

I will agree that it looks like a feeding photo...little fuzzy feet sticking out of the right front corner of the mouth, and possibly a tail hanging down the opposite side (POSSIBLY - that could just as easily be artifact from stretching the photo so much). I wouldn't think of that as gaping primarily due to the asymmetry, but if it is, that thing has got one hell of a case of mouthrot (if they aren't fuzzy feet...)
As for retained shed...I guess I can see what you are talking about, but I can't see it well enough to agree.
