    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

i was woundering if anybody in here has ever tried breeding a Nile monitor with a crocodile monitor an how do you think the hybrids would come out would they be aggressive in your opinion if someone wants to try this id be intrested in hearing what the size an result would be

Mr Williams,
Posting abusive comments won't serve you well here.
Sorry you didn't get a response within the 6 hrs you waited...perhaps those that viewed your threads didn't feel the subject merited discussion.

Yep, question doesn't warrant a response, especially with that attitude. This isn't Facebook; we expect a bit more professionalism and maturity on this forum.

Considering you posted in the dead of night, did you honestly expect a response in a few hours?

i dont know sorry i was just growing impatient some reptiles are smart an there are smart people who breed them an keep them however i don't understand why on earth someone" would not try breeding a wild caught Nile Monitor with a wild caught crocodile monitor an show us the hybrids

Maybe because there really is no need, other than curiosity? Both species get to be quite large and have a decently limited captive population. Why muddy the genetic waters through hybridization? To quote Malcolm in the original Jurassic Park, "we were so busy thinking we could do something that we didn't stop to think if we should."

Hello yes your probably right but it would be an amazing animal the aggression of a nile monitor combined with the size of a croc an those serrated Teeth the adult length would probably top out somewhere around 10FT the hatchlings" would be cheaper then buying a varanus salvadorii hatchling for 1000,00 t0 1500,00 the prices are just ridiculous on those i am honestly surprised this has not been done givin the high prices are on Crocodile monitors in general

Your thoughts are a bit flawed - 1) crocodile monitors also tend to be aggressive... and large aggressive animals with long sharp teeth don't always make good pets; and 2) the hybrids would be even more rare; so the prices would be higher (at least if there was even a small amt of interest in them).

I'm not a big proponent of making hybrids - occasionally, though, they ARE visually appealing. In this case, I'm not sure that the cross would be desirable; and, appreciating monitors as I do, I'd rather see bring efforts kept pure

ok i decided to drop back in well you all make valid points on the species if Indo ever shuts down it might be a possibilitie of somthing to consider would be a really cool looking Monitor i love the Croc Monitors but i dont like the prices an getting a good deal on a varanus salvadorii now a days no longer happens i think at one point in time you could get them for as cheap as 650.00 for a Fresh healthy male Juvenile imports but as of Today the prices have Gone Nuts i think one on here recently sold for 1,200.00 an was sold within 24 hours there was one on kingsnake for 1500.00 an im sure the seller is not planning to budge on the price i might go with a Blue tailed monitor instead

i think it all boils down to a payment plan most people setting on a 1200.00 to 1500.00 doller Monitor Lizard are looking to get paid as quick as possible most will not Accomidate payment plans i just have to except the fact where always going to get everything we want.
