In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Hi, we have a lovely childers python at home and for last 3 weeks he is not eating. In Australia is autumn/winter season but still is quite warm outsie. I heard that pythons are hibernate during winter time bt he is still moving around and not really asleep. I am worry that he might die if he is not eating for a long period of time. Is there anyone who may have some suggestions ?
thanks

How long have you had the snake?
How old?
M/F?
Has it eaten prior to the past 3 weeks? If so, what were you feeding it?
(if you have had it long enough) Have seasonal changes impacted feeding habits before?
What are the temperatures in the enclosure?

Children's pythons to not go into a true hibernation. Due to decreasing temperatures (and sometimes other environmental factors), they may go off food...but they will still move around the enclosure and drink. **I don't keep Childrens pythons, but I do keep Cape York spotted pythons, and mine have not gone off feed until/unless temps drop below 75F

Hi,
thank you for your response :)
We had Hunter/male for about 3 years now and never have any feeding problems. We are feeding him with baby rats that size increased as he grows. The tempretature is 30 degrees in C.
The worry is that he is moving around his glass house but not interested in food at all :(
Can you help please ?

It may just be that he has other things on his mind, given the season. (depending on how old he was when you acquired him, it could be his first one)
Don't worry too much, it has only been a few weeks. He can go for several months without feeding. Just keep an eye on things. You can take two approaches - do what you have done for the last 3 years, or try letting his temps drop a bit for a month or so, then warm him back up again (it was unclear if the 30 degrees was because it is still quite warm, or because you keep his enclosure that temp)
