    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Right now I'm holding my youngest bp and he's acting all calm. Which is weird since all he does is want to explore but today he's just rolled up in a ball and he layed his head on my hand and is just acting weird. Is he sick or something? I was thinking that he's like this because this past week I'm kind of moody and I'm really sick. Maybe it's the weather? Does any one know whats happening to him?! :shrug01:

Sounds like he is just acting like a normal ball python. Even though sometimes when they are nice and warm they will get out and cruise around sometimes they just want to ball up and chill. I wouldn't suspect anything wrong unless he starts rolling on his back or doing way out of the blue things. But being balled up is not out of the ordinary. But good luck.

I guess but still... he has NEVER acted like this. I just put him in his cage and it's been 30 min and he hasn't moved at all.

Don't worry too much. Just keep watching him to see if he starts getting any visible symptoms if you think he is sick.

It does, however, just sound like he may be just a tad stressed?

Have you been taking him out more frequently?

I haven't been taking him out more.... I'm usually with him 5-10 min almost every day. It's always been like that.

Might be... but I would have noticed this in his last shed. He stopped being like this. But it was definitely weird.

It really could have been a million things. Something could have scared him. A cat, dog, bird, car backfiring, earthquake, weird weather change, oncoming shed, belly ache, gut gas, new smell etc... a million tiny things that we would not think of, but may affect other critters.

Thanks Melinda for the help... and Heather... :)

I hold my BP for hours. She loves being held. She like to wrap around my neck then she will bring her head on top of my ear and just rest it there.

Ball pythons do not "love" or "enjoy" being held -- they do not have emotions like mammals and do not feel any kind of bond with other living creatures (us or other ball pythons). They simply tolerate handling once they realize you're not a predator. While regular handling is good, hours can be very stressful to the snake (which is a naturally lazy and nocturnal creature).
