    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

So what are everyone's thought about the blizzard leopard gecko being a true leucistic? I personally don't think it is, I think it is just another variation of the patternless. I mean, come on, the blizzards hatch out with concentrated pigments that make a pattern along the neck and sometimes even down the back. Also, any idea what the scientific term for "patternless" is?

i used to think so but the more i think about it i think no... because if it was a true leu, then ya wouldnt be able to put color into it like yellow and orange.... black spots i could see, ya know like a paradox or whatever but ya i tend to agree with ya justyn, especially the more i think about it

I don't think the blizzard is a true leucistic, for the same reason that has already been stated about the color.

Not sure what the scientific term for a patternless would be, something to find out I guess.:)

Ive actually talked to alot of people who still believe that a super hypo/baldy would be a patternless...in truth.
I brought my 2 male patternless up to a pet store that I normally go to for feeders...just to have him check them out, b/c he'd wanted to see them...and when I mentioned "my patternless", he said that they werent patternless..they were leucistic, and that a patternless would have no pattern...but does that also go for no color? I dunno. I believe in the true meaning...a super hypo baldy could be considered a patternless, but I guess it just isnt,..now is it? lol. If your talking about the look of the animal, its patternless..it has no pattern. But I guess patternless is just not the NAME it was given..so therefore...he's right and wrong, lol.
But as for a patternless being a leucistic..any truth in that?

leucistic snakes are pure white with black eyes. ever notice how blizards color vary, there are some dark ones , some have a blue tint to them , some times they change color when placed on a darker substrate like bark they get darker and when placed on something like paper towl they get lighter. does any one know where this originated? was there a wild blizard imported? was if from interbreeding to bring out recive genes? or was it just by chance that the weird little gecko poped out of an egg. blizzards as babys are kind of translucent. what about banna blizards, or blazing blizard? could you produce a banna leucistic ball python?

leucistic

there are variations of leucism. leusism is a skin mutation (not a pigment mutation) that prevents the skin from holding a pattern or set coloration. a little research on leusism in other reptiles will show you that leucistic animals do in fact come in other colors than white. calling a "patternless" a leucistic is a much bigger stretch. thet are born with a strong pattern that fades as they reach adulthood. that is not leucism unless it is a form of leucism that becomes stronger as the animal matures like how a vanishing pattern hypo honduran milk snake loses its banding with age.
I believe that blizzards are indeed leucistic. I have no idea what a "patternless" is and i truely doubt that we can get away with calling SHCTs patternless.

one more thing...

to say a blizzard cant be a leucistic because of the exsistance of color and than turn around and call a patternless a leucistic (which is typically more strongly colored) is completely ridiculous. a patternless is NOT a leucistic. i still think a blizzard is but if you pop out with a completely white leopard gecko that stays white through all temperatures, moods, ect.. ill change my mind and we can dub the blizzard something else. until than the blizzard IS the true leucistic in my book.
