In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Is there a way to convert regular screen lid to a slider?

I have a glass aquarium with a regular lid that sits over the entire top. I have 2 rosy boas in it, and even though I have the lid clips, I'm still worried they'll escape. Is there a way I can convert the lid into a sliding screen type?

I'm (again) pretty new to all this, and I'm trying to learn as I go. I used to have a few snakes many years ago, but I've forgotten more than I realized!

I'm sure there's a simple answer to this, but I need help finding it. Thanks a lot!

Honestly, trying to convert a regular screen top into a sliding screen would be too much of a hassle. I am sure it can be done, but the time spent to do it and do it right, along with materials cost, its just easier to go and buy (or look on Craigslist) for a pre built sliding and locking top tank.

I bought one from craigslist tonight. It's a nice 30 gal with the sliding top. So I can move them in there and relax about them escaping!

I saw the sliding lid kits on Exo Terras website, but can't figure out how to buy them? I don't think I can. Here they are: http://www.exo-terra.com/en/products/screen_cover.php

I made an account and everything. Does anyone know if I can buy from them somehow? Thanks again!

I've found it more cost-effective to scour my local CL and Facebook reptile forums for used reptile enclosures than to try to convert aquariums.

Also, if you have two snakes, you need two separate enclosures for them.
