    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

While I don't doubt that that happened in some instances, that wasn't the case for me. I was directed there for a couple of different reasons...but none of them were "hey, check this out" in nature. The closest to that was when one member asked if I thought his post was out of line, because he thought he drew some fire for it.

Apparently no, you don't understand. Giving me feedback gives you the unfortunate opportunity of possibly getting an answer that you may not like in return for such feedback. Things like "No, I don't accept your reasoning", or "Sorry, but I just do not agree with you" are distinct possibilities that you should be prepared for.

Here, let me quote exactly what is posted as the reason for this forum:

Hmm, I don't see there anywhere where it states I have to agree with everyone. Does it state that any and all suggestions, changes or demands will be implemented, whether I agree with them or not? Darn, I don't see that one either....

If you are expecting me to agree with everything that is proposed or suggested here, then I am sorry, but that is not how this forum works. This thread posed a question, and I was taking the time to respond to the points brought up in it. Fact of the matter is that I disagree with the opinions of the starter of this thread as well as some of the other participants. That's just the way it goes sometimes.
 
I understand that you won't agree with all feedback. But you don't seem to have the attitude of "thanks for the suggestion but its not going to happen and this is why". Its more like "how dare you suggest such a stupid think and this is why". I'm not trying to start an argument, just want to say that is how you're coming across, to me and others. It sounds like you're mad at everyone who gives feedback you don't like. I guess this is also going to be feedback that you don't like or agree with.
 
That just may be the way I write. I'm usually busy. So when I try to get my point across, I use the most direct path from point A to point B.

And yes, perhaps I do get exasperated at the things some people will try to blow up into issues. But that's just the way it is, I guess. You try to do this kind of job for a few years and let's see how your patience holds up... :hehe:
 
Laura, I am one of the ones that complained on the old thread. I do not agree with the existence of that thread either, but this is my opinion.
Everyone here has a opinion. It does not mean you must agree with everyone, but it is just a open forum. Rich has set A moderator over that forum, it is her decision to decide what is good for that forum. We may not agree, but it is just our opinion. Lucille is a super person, I have the up most respect for her. That does not mean I agree with her 100% on everything, but it is an opinion. I do not agree with the author of that thread as well, but I do not have hard feeling towards him on his opinion.

I guess the point I am trying to make is, Rich has the right to set Moderators in place to run these forums. It is his choice to let them run them in the manner he sees fit. That said it is up to Lucille to run that forum as she sees fit. Rich is respecting her feelings on running that forum. If Rich needs to run that forum, then why would he need a Mod?

As for the comment of Rich's attitude. It does not look to me like he was being mean in his response at all. He answered the questions he was asked about. I find it very hard to judge a person's response in a way to know intent behind a single comment. It is very hard to assume the intent of a person that is not on the phone or in person. Rich answered the question that was asked of him. There may be some that do not like the answer, but regardless, you must respect his opinion. That does not mean you agree with him, or he must agree with you. Everyone here has their opinion, it is not a bad thing to respect their thoughts, even if it is against your belief. I try to respect everyone’s thoughts, even if I do not agree. We all have the right to our opinion.
 
I personally commend Lucille for the thread going on as long as it did. Allthough it may not be my cup of tea so to speak, but it was handled very well by the thread starter. It is the lonely hearts forum and who are any of us to judge what another thinks or feels. Do any of us want this fauna to be like other sights, where post's and threads are deleted??

Sorry but I agree with Rich, if you don't like it don't read it. My time is valuable and I spend it as I choose, here, where I have the freedom to post my oppinion, thought, views, and values. And if I really loose it, I post in hell, which is not everyones cup of tea either, and that's what make this sight so terrific! We all have the ability to choose, voice our opinions and receive feed back from other members.......

I have been to the lonely hearts and there is one thing that puzzles me. I've seen Men looking for Woman threads. Now I have read the thread in question although I find it kind of humorous to say the least..... we are in the 21st century here people by closing our eyes and hoping this isn't really going on is living a narrow minded life. Would this out break of the Moral thing be the same if one of our Gay Brothers were posting looking for a partner ??? I think this whole thing is being blown out of context. And people should climb out of the dark ages.... This sorta of thing has been going on through out time and its only now people are open to express it. We are a community yes we have Blacks, Whites, Asian, Gays, and Bi's. This is life get use to it or pass it on by.....Your choice... I agree with Rich If it offends don't read It....

I can't help but laugh at this thread. I honestly can't believe that the thread in question is causing such an uproar. I looked at it cause I didn't know what the FWB stood for. After reading the first few lines I moved on. Not a topic that interests me.

I'm fascinated by the comments made because of that post. It's going to ruin fauna??? We don't need that sort of thing here???? I mean come on......... Have you looked at some other thread titles and the contents of them in that forum???

I am grateful to the naysayers. Because they brought the thread up to the top so many times, and then established this thread here, I'm sure the LH stats are skyrocketing and that many people have subsequently chosen to visit my forum. I am pleased with the new traffic this thread has brought and hope that some that lurked in for a visit to LH because of this thread will continue to visit and read.
This controversy highlights differing viewpoints; and each of them eloquent and well thought out.
Many of my LH posts are humorous: sex is a difficult subject for many to discuss, but when it is couched in a funny poll, sometimes it is easier to approach and then explore.
Sex is a subject that brings heartache, joy, and obviously, controversy.
Each of us has a different way of approaching this important subject, and the interplay of ideas here underlines both our differences and our commonalities.

I have no problem with the way Lucille handles her forum. What makes me laugh though is that the thread was locked............ Why? You know what, I really don't care why. :rofl: I think this whole thread is a joke.

Many people stated that it had nothing to do with the morality of what was being asked, if had read the whole thread, you should have seen that. What he wants to do is his business. The problem people had with the post was the fact that it didn't seem appropriate for a Fauna forum.....especially since the "cleanup" here. Talking and joking with innuendos is one thing, openly advertising for a sex partner is another thing entirely.

And I keep seeing, "If it offends you, don't read it". That's fine, I won't read it.....but what about all of the other new visitors to the forum that haven't had that warning? What does it say about Fauna as a whole? I only opened the thread to begin with because I didn't understand what the title meant.....as I know others did. That's my whole point.....but hey, if Lucille feels that it looks good for Fauna to be a site that promotes advertising for sex, I guess that's her choice.

From what I have seen, the 'cleanup' was initiated to decrease deliberate nastiness and derogatory behavior by members toward other members. There is none of that here, this person put no one down by his post. Quite the opposite.

I appreciate the concern for visitors but as y'all heard earlier in the thread, only registered members can even see the forum now.
I have received no pm complaints at all from new registered member visitors, although I have received a ton of pms in reference to this thread and I get a lot of new member pms on other subjects. I have noticed no particular reticence among reptile folk whether they be new visitors or long time Fauna residents, by the way; like y'all, they seem to be perfectly capable of voicing their opinions.

Hench the thread by Chris He was doing just that, looking for someone with that interest. While I do understand those that have objected to this thread. This subject is no different from any other there.... Well just a little more in-depth. :) We are all Adults here and as so we have the choice to do something or not. Just like in the real world. If it offends avoid it. I think your forum is cool, When I need a chuckle, there's one there Keep up the good work.
