    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Hi every one , I recently got two Melles Chameions . the place I got them from tells me the only way to sex them 100% is X-rays but will do his best to give me a male and female, one is around 18 inches and the other one is around 20 inches and I am trying to see if I can sex them, I read it is possible to tell if you can catch them taking a poop,

this one is the smaller of the two pooping, is the two black circle on the sides the hemipenes ? is this one a male ?

I also wanted to ask , I read on one site that they can change sex , any thoughts on this ?

thanks for reading

Sorry, but there really is no way to determine gender based on a dump. :)

The most reliable way to determine gender is through ultrasound, behind the cloaca or vent, endoscopy or x-rays.

Behavior in the presence of another Meller's can also help distinguish gender. I don't see babies in your pics, so I hope you are not caging your two together. Or even real close to one another if in separate enclosures.

You may be lucky enough to catch some hemipenal bulge when a male basks or hunts or drinks. Also look for hemipenal plugs on perches, branches. Yet another indication of male.

No, I do not believe; despite what I've seen written; they "change sex".
