    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I received a request to buy some items from 2 of my different posts in Other Herp Related Supplies. The person used the same phone number (256-600-2959) for 2 different member names (One1 and lounder101). This person also used 2 different names and is located in 2 different places. When I call the number I cannot reach anyone. When I text the number the person is very vague about my questions...
 
How were you initially contacted? PM, email, did you put your mobile # in the ad...???
 
I was contacted through the Fauna Private Message Center and given a number to text from the person who was interested in my items.
 
Is there a way for Fauna administrators to check into this individual and delete his account if he is a scammer? I would never have suspected this "duck" if I was not contacted twice.

Forward the PM to any moderator and explain what happened.

I took care of this yesterday. Sorry, got other things on my mind at the moment.
 
I received a PM from a user bestowedlord, with the same number. Was this person a scammer? The user name has zero posts, and joined today 6/15/22. When I searched the number this thread popped up.

In the future if you think a user is a scammer just report the post or forward the PM to a moderator so we can investigate.
 
Suspect scammer

I suspect this phone number is a scammer, he texted me, wants to “ send immediate payment “, with cashiers check, buying for father in law, surprise gift, looked up phone number and found this, told me he wanted snake shipped to Pennsylvania, 19132.

Both your email address and cell # are in your ads, which makes it easy for scammers to harvest them and contact you since they don't have to create an account to scam you.

Remove them and have initial comms go through the PM system. That way if you get a bad vibe from a buyer you can have a moderator investigate the buyer's account.
 
I received a message from this scammer as well. Messaged me on here a couple days ago saying they were interested in the skinks I have for sale. Wanted to pay by certified check, so I searched up the number they provided and came across this post.
Hope nobody ends up actually sending animals to this low life.
