In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Inquiry is usark scamming the reptile industry

cathy, absolutely not. also, i shouldnt have to scout out every store i go into first prior to taking my kids in. i do however (and not just animal stores), i know the age we live in and know that a lot of people dont have common sense or good ethics, because so many only care about themselves and what makes them seem cool and all that stuff. i can say with confidence that in the 1950's you wouldnt dare dream of walking into a store and having a 20foot retic or gator or cobra or any wild animal just cruising around. because people had common sense and ethics and such back then. we live in an overall, very stupid society and time. if thats what i have to do to keep my kids safe while they are young and little, i will do that, i shouldnt have to, but the reality is, i do. as i said, there should be some regulations and laws on these things, just not complete government control. obviously we cant rely on personal responsibility and common sense with a lot of people, so i rely on it from myself to protect myself, my family and especially my kids

Now THAT post I can agree with, 100%!

there has to be some laws and some regulations with most things in life, to have some control. i agree, there should be a law (if there is not already) that a public store cannot have a free roaming gator in the store, as its a public safety issue. the public goes in and out of the store. now, if that was his own personal house, and he does that, that should be fine legally (not morally and ethically) and if a child goes over there and something happens, that rests entirely on the parents. i think with the store issue, if something were to happen, its both parents and store (owner) at fault and both should pay dearly (although, the parents would pay much more, and for much longer)

if there was a free roaming gator law you would need a free roaming everything law. no free roaming cats or dogs or anything else.

keep in mind that they had a problem with the pic and now they have a problem because somehow they know that that gator just runs around everywhere and little kids have all kinds of access to it.

ultimately, the fact is, that terry guy is an idiot and irresponsible as a store owner and as a person. i dont want any part of someone like that representing my thoughts and actions with my animals and this hobby. which brings me back to, i take personal responsbility to not let him or anybody like him dictate or try to represent me and my views/actions, and i would never take my kids into his store (nor myself, haha) or any store run like that

you wouldnt need a law for free roaming animals of all species. you can list specific species in any law, hence why were are dealing with the "big 9" for the ban proposals and why corn snakes are not in there or gophers, etc

also, before i go any further, and if missed it, i apologize, but what are the specifics of that pic ? is that his daughter or is it in fact a random customer ?? is it known for a fact that the animal free roams at all times during business hours ??? etc

Um, Rodney, why would you need a "free roaming everything law" if you have a free roaming gator law?
Do you or do you not know the difference between a dog, a cat and a gator?

LOL, seriously Rodney...have you ever tried using a little common sense here? You aren't even comparing apples to oranges here, it's more like apples to, um...a winnebago.

That gator she's holding roams free in the store. And has for years. Ive seen people come in there with 2yo's that come running up to the gator like its a toy. And people dont even blink an eye. Not exactly responsible gator ownership. Yes its pretty tame, but for Gods sake its an alligator....

Its not "somehow". Ive seen it with my own eyes for years. The gators name in "smiley" and the little girl in the picture helps run the shop, and I believe is Terry's daughter.

who are you anyways do you keep reptiles or what. why are you on this forum

Does it really matter? I think not. Who are you? Do you even keep reptiles? WTF are you really doing on this website other than stirring the pot? :shrug01:

Do you even think before you post, or do you just let your fingers go across the keyboard without your brain connecting them? The more you type, the more I think that you're just trying to stir up stuff. You sound so damned illiterate in your postings, and can't even answer basic questions, yet you can spew off at the mouth, (keyboard) about other crap. You don't do research (which is been proven) before you type, so why don't you do everyone a favor and keep away from the keyboard until you do some self education.

thank you. i did miss that, haha. he is an idiot for letting a gator free roam within the store that has regular access to the public and especially small children. although, parents should be cognizant and extra aware of things these days, it is horribly irresponsible and no common sense he has a public store owner

I think you are 100% correct. Yes as parents we have responsibilities to protect our children. However, 'Wild animals' are one of the class of ' absolute liability' and the store owner would be financially responsible should something happen, so it is not smart legally or ethically to let a critter roam around free in a public access area, imho.

on face value it looks bad. but you have to take into consideration the animal itself as a rule i dont let people handle my retics. but i retics that i trust even with kids. the one in my profile pic on facebook is dog tame you can let her aorund who ever you want and i know that. i have some big girls that i cant let around anyone especially kids.

i only got on here to answer that one girls questions. i didnt really want to waste my time talking to you people that live on here. i have around 50 retics that need fed so i have to go. i actually have a lot of reptiles unlike most of you.
