Inquiry is usark scamming the reptile industry

I have a serious problem with some of you people's attitudes, here's a little advice and not to sound mean but a lot of you bashing this person rodney are giving him a bad reputation on here for what exactly???. I don't see what the big deal is,or why a lot of you are so angry at him he is just stating his opinion just as much as you are stating yours. There is nothing wrong with that, as for his grammer maybe it's because of 2 things, #1 english is not his first language or #2 he is typing fast and made some spelling errors along the way. Either way you can always go back and edit your post so some of you are making a big deal out of nothing.

If you can't understand what he is asking or trying to say,then you should learn a thing or two and stop making assumptions and/or trying to put words in his mouth,instead of doing that be a grown up and ask him what he meant by some of his statements,don't be rude to other people and then not expect them to come back at you in the same manner. Being ignorant and one sided will not help you.

I do not know this guy so i'm in no way protecting him, but from what i see it seems a lot of you have a problem with someone who has a different opinion from yours,some of you are throwing tantrums because he said a few things you didn't like. Please get a life and stop acting childish it's 2012 for god's sake,why can't people ask questions and talk properly without bashing someone else or trying to knock them down?,instead you come into a thread and get upset over nothing. A simple solution for some of you,all you had to do was state you opinion without being rude.

All you had to do was state your opinion without calling other people names,and then you have the nerve to try that reverse psychology BS on someone claiming they are the one's using profanity? really?Where do you people get this childish type of mentality from?Then you call him the child?,The people getting after him about grammer need to look into the mirror and recheck their personality. It shows in your post,and i'm sure you wouldn't like if people talked about you in a bad way. It's disrespectful.

Now about this python ban,people are over exaggerating this. You can still keep the snakes you own but you will just need to abide by some new rules,if you can't do that then owning reptiles let alone having a business selling them isn't for you. Some of the rules are easy and not hard at all to follow,you can't move to a different state if they are illegal there,you can't ship across the border but you can still breed and sell in your state where it's legal. Some people act as if they are losing out on money because of it,and from that kind of mindset they don't deserve to own any snakes,crocs of any kind because you shouldn't be in it just for the sole purpose of making fast money. I hear people complaining about snakes not being able to survive the cold,my opinion on that is a snake is a snake,just because an animal is captive bred does not mean it won't be able to survive on it's own in the wild. It does not mean captive bred animals can't adapt the the wild,because they can. At the end of the day they are still wild animals and unpredictable at times but never under estimate them,I love reptiles don't get me wrong,but if things need to be done to control breeders from importing too many snakes i support it. I find too many breeders competing with each other trying to be the first to produce a new morph,enough already. Then they turn around and charge such high outrageous prices for the offspring,while they do set their own prices because they own the speices personally i don't do that.But it's just my opinion on what i would and wouldn't do.

Olivia, it's apparent from your posts that you aren't educated on this thread or the backstory behind it. I suggest you read this thread and the couple of threads that Rodney has also started on this same subject, then maybe you can come back and make an educated entry into this discussion.

As for laws not being a large deal, I am somewhat shocked to hear you say that, as you live in NYC, and have sold or attempted to sell a BCI. Those are illegal in NYC, so I would think that you, of all people, would know how important reptile laws can be.

As for your comment on reptiles adapting to the wild. Yes, captive born reptiles are equipped with everything they need to survive in the wild IN THE PROPER SET OF CIRCUMSTANCES. Unfortunately, adaptation does not work quickly enough for a tropical snake to survive a temperate winter. Seeing that 99% of the continental US is temperate or colder, that means that captive tropical snakes aren't going to be able to survive a winter.

Defending someone is often a noble cause, but before you rush to one's defense, educate yourself on the situation. Sometimes the angry mob is right.

If u read the whole thread u should be able to easily tell why were tired of rodney, hes basically been talking out his butt and repeatedly. And anytime we disscussed a topic he changed the subject. His typing does matter here, if we cant understand him how are we supposed to disscuss something? Typos and a few miss spelled words i can understand and accept that, but rodney has a blatant disregard for the english. I respect peoples opinion, but when he trys to tell me about the laws in my state and say im wrong and such and i post the laws and he still wants argue with me, it just shows his ignorance.

i tried to point that out like 10 or more pages ago. Thats why BOI has become a joke. you post your opinion and the fauna junkies with no life jump all over you and twist what you say and then give you negative karma. FAUNA needs to impose some new rules about what you can post about a BOI topic. Like if you constantly jump in all the time with your two sense and throw it off topic then you should have your posting privillages IN the BOI revoked or suspended. Maybe people with quit talking all the smack with their keyboards and actually post about the topic not their grammar or spelling mistakes when its obvious that you still understand what they posted. Bottom line is alot of important stuff doesn't get posted because people fear to be attacked and berrated just for posting an opinion or a question. The BOI is supposed to help people and the community not make them feel singled-out or intimidated which is what the trend has been over the past 6-9 months.

by no means am i saying rodney didn't go off on tangents and completely talk out of his ***, but the keyboard bashing started from the get go. This may have been the third post of this kind, but its the first one i saw. so you can speak for everyone and say it wasn't nessacary or that we all knew or know already? I'd like to be able to use the BOI to find out true info about stuff in the community, but mainly i've just been stockpiling my bank of snide comments and comebacks.

I am very appreciative for all that USARK has done for us so far. At the same time, I am all for asking questions of them and making sure everything is done above the table. I like what I have seen.

LOL yes but what's the point of arguing back and forth with someone who you don't even know? who you will never meet?,i wouldn't waste my time doing such things over the internet. I mean some people are annoying yes but your wasting your breath for what?,i only come on here to post in the classifieds when i am selling something to get rid of it. I can't keep all of the snakes i have because my son he still young and i can't take those type of risk with a child envolved. I respect your opinion but you could just ask him to break it down to you if you don't understand,there is no need for all the fussing back and forth. I agree that USARK are tying to prevent the ban because they are not the one's trying to get the bill passed. It's DC and the republicans which they always try to ban something,so it's not new to me.

And you do know that Bill Nelson, who was the politician that started this whole mess, is a democrat?
The democrats try to ban just as many things as the republicans do, and none of them are any good.

I'm well aware of the laws in my state,doesn't mean i'm uneducated because i gave an opinion though. I have no problem getting rid of or handing over my snakes,i wouldn't complain. I'm just stating that some people on here could have just given an opinion instead of resulting to name calling and using profanity to belittle,and downgrade someone. That does not mean you can classify them as dumb though maybe he is uneducated about USARK,and maybe he does not know too much about them but that gives no one the right to be rude to him. I wouldn't waste my time taking offense to people attacking me over the internet,i have better things to do. If people want to sit there and get the last word then i let them because it shows they are immature. Just because YOU have no problem with your rights being stomped on by an over intrusive government, does not mean that WE have no problem with it. We have a HUGE problem with it. Right now USARK is standing between government, and the citizen's rights to own their animals of choice. Rodney tries to weaken USARK, then his weaknesses will be mentioned as well.

Just because you are a sheeple, and want to lie down while government runs roughshod over your rights, does not mean WE will tolerate it.

Ummm excuse ME, but you seem to have no trouble breaking the law in your state, and then saying that you would happily hand all your animals over to the authorities to be destroyed to protect your son. You are all over the map on this one.
If you feel your snakes are dangerous, why do you even have them in the first place?
Why do you break the law in your state willingly, and make all us law abiding reptile keepers look bad?

You can't help but laugh though because it is funny. When people get worked up over nothing,If i offended anyone i apologize but i'm 100% certain none of my comments personally effect anyone. It's not that serious, so i don't see why everything has to get twisted around. Or taken out of proportion.
