Ummm excuse ME, but you seem to have no trouble breaking the law in your state, and then saying that you would happily hand all your animals over to the authorities to be destroyed to protect your son. You are all over the map on this one.
If you feel your snakes are dangerous, why do you even have them in the first place?
Why do you break the law in your state willingly, and make all us law abiding reptile keepers look bad?
And why do you think that the government imposing its will on the citizens is ok?

Since you asked me a question i will answer it,I've had my snake way before i even got pregnant. It's not easy finding a home for all of them because of the economy and not everyone is able to take them,even if i offer them for free some places turn them down because they either don't have enough room or they don't accept the speices.But eventually i will get rid of mine so i don't see why you have any concern about me.

I never said i felt my snakes were dangerous,so your just assuming things now.Not only that about the laws,a friend of mine told me they were illegal after i had snakes so while i didn't know you can't try to blame me for that. Again please stay on the subject because this is not about me,it seems as though people will take any small line and blow it up.I don't know if your trying to start something with me but i will not feed into it.



I agree with the ban because i said earlier,too many breeders import just so they can be in competition with each other,to see who can create a new morph first.If your not a big breeder then i don't see what's the problem,If you have too many snakes then yes i think some of it should be downsized. It's just an opinion,so if you don't agree that's fine cause i'm not here to bicker and argue with you over it. You can't change my mind and i can't change yours,i will just leave it as that. i only come on here to post in the classifieds when i am selling something to get rid of it. I can't keep all of the snakes i have because my son he still young and i can't take those type of risk with a child envolved. .

Seems to me that "i can't take those type of risk with a child envolved" means that you think your snakes are dangerous.

Where it comes to fighting this ban by the FWS, I fail to see where USARK was compromising. This ban was created on flawed logic, lies, deceit and faulty "science". As far as i know (someone correct me and show me my errors if any) USARK was fighting the ban in its entirety.

We lost big time. Yet here we stand still pointing fingers. I am not sure if we all have to be in the same groups or organizations. But I believe we ALL should be doing something. Instead of wasting our time slinging mud because of our own agendas, perhaps if we spent that time actually doing some work for our organization. Instead of spending time trying to dismantle an organization that has numbers, perhaps we should spend our time doing something productive.

Completely agree with that. We need to come together more now than ever in the reptile community. A divided community is going to be bad for us. Whether you like this or like that, it doesn't matter. We will be stronger if we fight as a whole.

Not enough people backed USARK to stop this from happening. Your timing for this thread was impeccable. The perfect time to attack USARK was when we were on the brink of losing our stance in this hobby. I am not saying that this thread caused us to lose at all but I am sure that some people refused to sign the petition because of this thread.

Andrew was not against constrictor ownership. Andrew was for proposing an alternative to an outright ban. Well, since we could not convince our government to consider an alternative, our pythons and boa's are lost in the Lacey Act now.

I would much rather had the alternative.

hah i got a call when it was announced that the ban went through and i jokingly said i would get blamed for it on here.

first of all i never said not to send a letter. i sent one, but i explained my personal opinoin on the matter. ive said throughout everything im not against everything they do. usark has done a great job of bringing people together but people put too much faith in them.

and as for you saying you would have preferred the alternative. guess what you got it. you got the usark compromise. and thats exactly what usark did here. when we go to court we will find out just what usark really said behind closed doors.

I wouldn't count out USARK just yet. In their statement they demonstrated that other rulings of the USF&W have been over turned by the courts due to illegitimate science. A law suite could tie this mess up for a while.

a law suit could tie this up for 5 more years and lets hope it dose. im just worried usark is planning on fighting very hard. if they went into the room ready to compromise i cant imagine they will approach a lawsuit any different

yeah everyone needs to start doing something namely if you are affected by this ban call an attorney and be ready to file a suit when the rule is enacted. if the day the laws gos into affect there are 1000 plus lawsuits field that will be a wake up call to the government of just how many people are involved in this

Why is anyone lending the OP any credence? He has demonstrated through dozens of posts that he is an anti government, anti law conspiracy nut. For some unknown reason, he has fixated on USARK as his personal boogeyman and blames them categorically for all his issues.

It wouldn't matter what happened in any given situation in which USARK was involved. He would find fault no matter what the outcome was.

Folks, the attitude of "No regulations at all!!! We have a right to keep our giant snakes" Is over. The situation at hand is figuring out which of them we will be able to keep and under what regulations. Another point that Rodney continues to repeat ad nauseum Is his objection to someone suggesting model legislation in HIS state without checking with the herp keepers of that particular state. That has to be the most self centered moronic comment stated in this thread. If the suggested legislation is acceptable in North Carolina why would it not be reasonable and acceptable nationwide? Does Vermont have different needs on this issue than California or Georgia?

It's gonna happen folks. We have one organization that is doing their damndest to soften the blow and make it something we can still live and operate with.
