Rodney has a point, a long point, but valid. An organization purporting to protect our rights then throwing us under the bus (with the use of our donation $) to state legislators.
The following link will answer some of the questions as to how the FWS was able to add 4 of the 9 to the Lacey Act. There was no compromise on behalf of USARK. It's a good read even though the reasoning is flawed...

The species banned have all been found in the wild in the Glades. I don't believe that the other five have been documented loose in the wild.
sure. but can I borrow some money? You know it takes money to even file right?
and for goddness sakes. This was not a USARK compromise. <---- Can you read that? There was no compromising here. USARK was fighting the WHOLE thing. How hard is that to understand? I thought I printed it up in plain english. There was no compromise with this ban. sheesh
if yu dont care enough to spend some of your own money to fight for your rights then dont bitch when they are taken away. since your such a big snake breeder you should have plenty of money to spend
ok well your wrong about this. python natalensis has not been found in the glads and i guarantee that since there arnt any in the country. there has been a large aound of boas living in FL for 10 or 20 years so why were they not kept on the list and why weren't retics kept on the list. well let see. some of usarks big backs breed boas and andrew wyatt owns retics. yet natalensis was kept on when there arnt even any in the states and yellows were kept on because its rumored the two were found in the wild in FL.
if you cant see that there is an agenda for usark you are all blind
Incidentally...could you try and present some of the crap you spout as evidence without using the phrases
"it's rumored"
"I heard that somebody said"
"The people I speak to said"
"Rumor has it"
It's paranoid conspiracy crap through and through anyways but when you preface it with phrases like that it is hearsay as well.

They support regulation but oppose banning based on unsubstatiated and false claims.Support - Legislation for responsible regulation of large snake species, venomous reptiles and crocodilians as outlined by USARK.
Oppose - Legislation designating any reptiles as Dangerous or Inherently Dangerous; or banning the private ownership and trade in any reptiles based on unsubstantiated and false claims of public safety risk.
little hint. USARK backers also own burms. I guess you accidentally forgot on purposesome of usarks big backs breed boas and andrew wyatt owns retics. yet natalensis was kept on when there arnt even any in the states and yellows were kept on because its rumored the two were found in the wild in FL.

choice between feeding my kids and putting food on the table.if yu dont care enough to spend some of your own money to fight for your rights then dont bitch when they are taken away.
I am not talking snake donation which is pretty easy. I am talking CASH. Proof?wait Now I am a BIG snake breeder when you want me to be and it suits your arguement. But I thought earlier you said the following in the quotes belowsince your such a big snake breeder you should have plenty of money to spend
Like I said before. You keep chaning your arguements and points of view.........i just read his little bio on here. hes only been keeping reptiles since 1997 1998.
im guessing hes a big nobody in the reptile community.
dont waste your time arguing with him.
It almost sounds like you are saying the snakes they banned are okay to ban. Sounds like you are saying the only chance we have is IF they would have added others that were not necessary to ban. I think that is what you are saying. Let me find more stuff.i hate to tell everyone this but i think it would have been better if all he snakes were left on the list. we will have to take it to court now and if they had listed a bunch of snake unnecessarily it would have been more ammo to discredit the ban altogether but since usark is think fighting and compromise is the same thing this is what we get.
all you people that have so much faith in usark why arnt they here of all days to talk to the people they claim to represent.
i am glad my retics didnt make the list though guess its a good thing me and andrew keep the same kind of snakes
Sounds like Rodney here is in agreement of the regulations. Yet here he is saying USARK is a scammer and then only complains about aforementioned regulations.as retarded as this post is i have to agree with the part about these animals being dangerous. i think its a big mistake for usark to say these animals arnt dangerous. from the perspective of a law maker i would quickly point out to usark if these animals are safe why are they suggesting regulations for them. i think we need to admit they are dangerous just like a gun or a car or a dog or anything else that has the possibility of causing harm. but i really dont think the tiger in the neighbors back yard is realistic analogy unless your neighbor happens to be your local zoo.
really your worried about your rights not to have your child eaten by a tropical predator. is that really an issue in your neighborhood.

If you can't stay on topic which i said this isn't about me then that's your own issue, with that being said god bless and have a nice day.Seems to me that "i can't take those type of risk with a child envolved" means that you think your snakes are dangerous.
Also, ask anyone involved with the criminal justice system, ignorance of the law is no excuse.
Thank youYour posts make me go "wow", too.

Copied and pasted from University of FL website (http://edis.ifas.ufl.edu/uw286):
"Other large nonnative snakes—such as the common boa (Boa constrictor), green anaconda (Eunectes murinus), yellow anaconda (Eunectes notaeus), and reticulated python (Python reticulatus)—have been observed in the wild in South Florida, but only Burmese pythons and common boas are known to be breeding. Boas have been breeding since approximately 1970 in the Charles Deering Estate at Cutler, southern Miami-Dade County. Boas have also been reported elsewhere in South Florida, but without evidence of breeding."
