In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Inquiry is usark scamming the reptile industry

It's a point 3 not point c, so that means, to me, that it doesn't get exempted with only one. And, based on the law how it is you posted, it seems that anyone, including those keeping pythons as pets at home, fall under that requirement. Then again, I'm not in Ohio, so i don't know how strict with the regulations they will be, but i am assuming fairly strict.

I'll be sure to call the ODA again tomorrow and ask if that 6.5 ft tall includes home keeping. Not many cages built for these snakes unless hand made are 6.5ft tall and I'll check to see if thay means for one or more since right above it says something about keeping more than one together.

So you still ok with those laws...you need a cage at least 6 ft 5 in high and a water bowl big enough for the retic to fit in..and don't forget retics can get 20ft....and as the owner of one of the largest private collection of retics in the country and the second largest collection of locality retics in the world I can tell retics will make a mess in a water bowl about every other day...so enjoy cleaning out your retics mini swimming pool 3 or 4 time's a week....and with the size of cages you will need you better start building now

That's right to have a pet big snake in Ohio you have to have it in a zoo like display. .but no big deal sb310 is no big deal it didn't destroy Ohio's exotic owners rights

Pretty absurd to me. Same as disqualified due to a drug charge. What does that have to do with keeping a larger python? Even Florida, the only place where large constrictors even have a chance of establishing, isn't so insane.

The best part about these new ohio reptile laws are that reptiles weren't even being looked st for sb310 until pijac and usark went into ohio and both said they supported regulating reptiles. ..and the real kicker is the reptile industry paid for it...it was brian potter and Bob Ashley that gave pijac 30000 to hire the lobbyist to push for regulating anything bigger then a boa. ....

It's also dumb to have to pay the government to get the right to own firearms, or pay the government to get married. But you need to if you want to legally do these things.

I don't pay the government for the right to own firearms. I don't know why people are insinuating that because we already have dumb laws it's okay to make more dumb laws.

I told you I would call the ODA again today and I JUST got off the phone with the guy that does the inspections for the permits, they go off of the ohio revised code, which I screen shotted for you. The HEIGHT OF the enclosure shall be no less than 12 INCHES. Attaching the screen shot to this comment. So before you speak on a government and regulations you think you know, try doing the research.

It seems there are two standards. One for personal keepers and one for rescue/rehab centers. The way it is called out seems to give them leeway to enforce either set.

So is there two sets of standards
That thread was started in 2003 and has no recent information. I posted the info you guys called into question and spoke to the Ohio Department of Agriculture myself and it's nothing like you are saying. You are trying to play this up to make it sound like my state was destroyed.

Like I said before hsus and Peta were breathing down our governments neck to pass laws because there weren't any. Please tell me Rodney where do you live and how much looking into this have you actually done. Because I've posted the proof, even had the guy on speaker phone while he directed me to the correct website where this is all listed.

So please tell me how YOU know more about this than i do when I've read the regulations, posted them here, I do believe the screen shot had the Web address to go see for yourself as well. You haven't posted anything that supports what you are saying. I HAVE. And no this isn't off topic since you said USARK had a hand in DESTROYING OHIO.

*I* said it was off topic and *I* said we should take the discussion to the Ohio State Laws thread, where I posted a link and copy/pasted some verbage from what you posted. The topic is USARK, so I felt Ohio law needs to be discussed over in the appropriate thread. *shrug*

Maybe but Rodney brought up how USARK destroyed ohio, so I felt it appropriate to post that he was wrong. If an admin wants to chime in and maybe say if it's off topic or not then that's cool, but how I see it he brought it up that USARK destroyed Ohio so felt it was appropriate to show him they didnt.

Admin chiming in: If the subject matter goes off topic, I will let you know. But so far things seem to be staying on a fairly even keel.

One I didn't say usark destroyed ohio..I said pijac and narbc did...but both usark and pijac went into ohio when they were told to stay out. ..both told ohio government they supported regulating reptiles. ..it wasn't until then that ohio decided to add reptiles to sb310.....As for the regulations that you posted those are the revised rules the they had to come up with because zaa was about to get sued for making ohio regs much stricter then zaa standards. ......

As the people that live in Ohio and keep tigers bears and so on. Ask them about it. ...ask them how ohio promised them a permit and are now denying them a permit. ..Ask them about having to put down their animals because of it......

I fought sb310 the whole way...I raised more money and donated more animals and money to help lobby/oaao lawsuit against sb310 than all the reptile owners in Ohio put together. .and im in PA.......

I know more about that bill and how it passed then anyone on FaunaClassifieds. ...

And it wasn't peta and hsus breathing down anyone's neck....your legislator took money from them. They got paid to do not coerced. .one alone took 3 million in donations to push sb310. ......

When it comes to legislation issues you're out of your mind if you think you know more than I do..

Ultimately sb310 passed into law because of people like you that thinks it's ok to lay down to the government...it wasn't peta hsus and the money that made it law.....it was brian potter paying pijac to sellout a sector of the reptile industry. ..it was John mack in Ohio only looking to protect what he does and saying the hell with the keeps of venomous. Big snakes and crocs. ....it was the ohio owners the didn't join oaao fight and backed sb310 because the government said they would be grandfathered in and get their permits approved if the backed it. ..and now they're crying because the government backed out on their promise
