In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy IslandReefNReptiles Steve/Shaun Field

At least notify him that you HAVE posted. (That's a lot different than "I'm going to")

Like I said, I have. He was notified yesterday about it. I don't see him jumping in and trying to defend himself. He jumped ship, seeing as he won't reply to any of my texts, emails, or PayPal messages.

Bank Of America will file a claim, You need to not just give up and accept it. You are their boss/Customer and without you they lose money. Go into local branches and just say you want to file a claim on this purchase and go from there. If they refuse try another, or go higher up in the company. Gotta be stern with BoA especially since they are government owned/ran

Thanks, Rich. Will go see them in person tomorrow. I spoke to them on the phone on a weekend, which may not have yielded me the best response.

And Snake, I wish I had known of their identity before. I had actually sent emails and PMs to islandreef about their sale ad a month ago, and never got any sort of reply back. I think they are using two different accounts for two reasons. 1, to bump their sale ad up. 2, because after islandreef's thread about the panther company selling an aggressive chameleon, where everyone turned it around on him, he felt the need to conceal his identity and reputation.

It could be that....or they could just be following site policy of one person per account. Time will tell.

If they're the same person, he had the forethought to use very different ages when registering. Could be father/son, based on the age gap. Again, time will tell.

Based on my own digging, I believe they are father and son. Shaun (modf1000) is, and has been, a member of a chameleon forum (since 2011 when he was just getting into chams) and has posted pics which show him to be very young. He also listed his occupation to be "school" .

I also found old posts on another non-reptile related forum where he was questioned about dual registration and he explained one was his and the other, his father's, in keeping with that particular forum's rules, as well.

I also noticed, in the old, original "Bad Guy" thread posted by Steve Field linked here, Steve Field did reference previous interaction by his son, Shaun. Screen shot below.

With respect to this thread, I am not disputing serge/Yuki's claim that he was sold a misrepresented and sickly cham, I am only addressing dual accounts by the same person. I've never done business with, nor heard of Shaun or Steve Field relative to the cham trade (or reef/salt tanks)

Yuki, when you are able please post screen shots of the cham when you recieved it and your vet receipts/reports.

Even if it is father and son, I think it is wrong for both to post the same Cham for sale. Not to mention the age of said Cham is different in each posting.

Pictures and emails will really help.

I'm not sure if these photos really captured it, because like I said before, it was hard to capture something 3D with a 2D camera, and I couldn't get the lighting and shadows right. The lumps were squishy to the touch, and he had yellow crusty stuff on his nostrils. If he was 9 months (10 now because ad's a month old), he was tiny. Perhaps his growth was stunted due to poor care, but he was the same size as my 5 month old.

It's around his nostrils, and puffy between his eyes and nostrils.

snake queen?? not seeing the same cham in the reference pictures..so darn similar for sure.. but lack of dot in the front chest area. Circled, and different stripe on the rear.. what the heck am I missing??

geeze more time I spend on this site less I want to deal with private sellers.. @ sergei.. there is not "obvious" differences between visually your pictures and the sellers. sucks but hell looks the same.. not doubting you.. sadly, they mentioned hell the animal had issues with its toung.. yeh eating like a pig.. so what, I have a rescue cham eating like a pig.. stll has a huge vet bill, both rear legs deformed and healing MBD fractures.. are sellers going this low to say something yet,not ship or be honest about the animals status??
I think you may have been screwed.. a cham with a tounge issue is NOT healthy no concerns.. nor is normal.. as such may not be able to ask or address disputes on a oh was shipped a normal healthy animal but not so.. was not advertised as such..
one assumes such details are being honest on a animals traits.. thinking it was a oh I said this was a issue and not a 100% normal animal..

"He has a tongue issue where his tongue only shoots about 3" which doesnt effect his health at all and still eats and drinks like a pig!"

ok you said it does not.. prove to me you WORKED the animal up to ensure it does NOT..

Not being able to hunt normally.. is abnormal.. so ok prove it.. seems your best option.. saying the animal was not normal when the ADD states it is not.. not going to work..

fyi I am sick of hey how your experience or not is a valid point.. heck you even went to a vet, or heck was going too.. and did..

yes a factor.. but heck IF it is such a issue then why does this ONLY come up after the animal has been purchased or changed hands?? don't get it..

One either warrantees or not..

The cham was claimed to be 7 mos old when Shaun Field (user "modf100") listed him for sale on 3-24-14.

The same cham was claimed to be 9 months old when Steve Field (user "islandreefnreptiles") listed him for sale on 2-19-14, a month + earlier.

Really? Is that honest representation or record keeping? I don't think so.

I do see the same cham, and the "dot" is there on the chest. Cham is fired up in the sale ads, but obviously stressed in the buyer's after-sale photos. I also see a cham with an nasal/facial injury that is NOT completely represented in the ad photos, although the seller admitted to a tongue issue.

Frankly, when I looked back at Steve Field's sale ad from February 2014, I could see facial abnormalities. Take a closer look at the screen shot below. I had to, and I've kept tropical and montane chams for many more years than the seller. Cham's snout should extend beyond the upper jaw in a sort of "point". I didn't catch it till I really looked at it. Please note the "rubbed", shortened snout.

Seems like Steve's ad in February more represented the cham's true condition than Shaun's ad in March, especially since the cham seemingly magically regressed in age, appearance and health.

I still would like to see a vet report (please crop or resize smaller than your cham photos :))

You need to look closer then, as those are the same chameleons.

OP, I definitely see the issues with his nose now (on pc and not phone).

What did the vet say?
