In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

It is great to see all the posting going on up

in here. To all of you that are only reading posts and not initiating posts or posting replies to other people's posts, don't be shy, post away. There is no such thing as a dumb question, or a stupid comment, just be respectful of other people's opinions when you might disagree with them. This forum is to learn about boas, talk about boas, and share pics of boas. The more people that get involved, the better. There is always something new you can learn from someone else's experiences and there is always someone that can learn from your experiences.

I have learned a lot here from other people, so even though I disappear from time to time, I try to help out when I can, and give back to this forum, be it sharing some pics or trying to help someone out with a question.

Anyway, just thought I would share some thoughts and express my happiness of seeing an active boa forum.

YAY!!

I'm a boa girl and I, too, am so glad to see more activity on the boa forum!! I know there is tons if interest in balls but I LOVE BOAS! Keep it going :)

Patty

I like both any more! Not much going on with the boas this year as Luna is getting a year off and the other gals are too small for breeding yet.

I could try and get a picture of Luna trying to take my face off in our "every ten day battle" to give her a couple rabbits! :D

Of course then I'll have to post pictures in the Bite Club thread afterwards...

HA!

I'd say you should get some one to video tape that wrestling match! I am blessed by having such a docile guy... I've been thinking about getting him a girl but not sure if I'm ready to tackle the whole breeding process... Sure love to see boa pics up though. Wish I could get more myself but I live alone and Max isn't too accomodating when it's photo time...

Now thats entertainment!! I got bit once by my biggest boa(around 7.5 ft at the time) and she got me right on the hand in between the thumb and the index finger. As many times as I have told myself, don't pull against the bite if I ever get bit, the reflex action proved more powerful than the mind. My tendons were sore for like two months, but chalk it up to another SFE(stupid feeding error). It is amazing how when you bring that first rat into the room, all the boas go on high alert, like they have rat radar or something!!

She smells them from the reptile room which is at the opposite end of the house from the kitchen where I "prepare" everything! Rat radar is right!

Ever since she bit me last year (and wrapped up my entire left arm in front of my Granddaughter--who's only response was "Do it again, Gramma?") she has tried to tag me each and every time I interact with her. Ungrateful wench! :D

I never let my guard down with her! She was almost nice when she was gravid...then you should have seen me trying to get her away from the babies! :ack2:

Here is a pic of my boy Max(Maximus). He is a descendant of Rich Ihle's Maximus and is Het Sunglow, but I have not been able to prove him out yet. Summer 2009 might finally be the year I produce my first albinos.

Ain't that the truth??!! Max's cage is two rooms from the kitchen where I defrost his rats but seems like as soon as I pull one out of the freezer he is pacing and poised for it to be in front of his face. When he was younger I would take the bag the rat was stored in and waft it in his cage opposite from where he was because I thought he needed some egging-on. Learned quick he was much more perceptive than I gave him credit for. Now I swing the rat one time and he grabs it, like he's known it's coming. Guess it saves me all the time I thought I needed to "get him ready" - BOAS ROCK ;)

Your granddaughter is precious!! My big female(Cali) and I have come to an understanding. A tap on the head with the snake hook means hold your fire and an open freedom breeder drawer with a flash of furry white in front of her face means fire at will!! LOL

:iagree: Boas do rock!!

The bad part was I couldn't freak in front of Phoebe (Granddaughter) as I didn't want to scare her.

So I'm standing there with a 7 foot snake wrapped around my arm, blood dripping all over the carpet (she had my two middle fingers in her mouth) and calmly telling my oldest son, Chris, that I'll grasp her head and he could unwrap her tail-first and get her back in her enclosure.

GAWD, that hurt! She's still my favorite snake though, go figure!

Maggie Rocks too! Took one for the team!! That sounds like an incredibly painful bite, hope it did not damage your "shooting the bird" capabilities!!LOL

WHAT A HANDSOME GUY!! He's really beautiful! My Max (short for Mokonyama, which I researched as a Guyana god of rainforests - Max is SO much easire to say and I like to call him Snakus Maxiumus) is a Guyanan who is 05 (I think). He is my only snake now, which is why I often don't post much, as a lot of posts are about balls and about breeding...

Nope, can shoot the bird with the best of us! :D

Just a little more info for anyone who would think that Phoebe was anywhere within strike-range. She was accross the room, with her Uncle Chris. She does not interact with the big boas, except supervised with Gaia (who I do educational presentations with) as I just don't trust them.

How big is your Max?

I'm assuming that's his tail in your avatar.

Very cool tail!
