    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I was cleaning out one of ATB cages this evening - she was laying on the substrate (makes me wonder why I bothered fitting and installing perches :hot: ), so I took her out to give her a once over. She had a small lump about the size of a quarter sticking out one side - low, pretty much right where her belly turns into her side. She started stretching out and it was still very noticeable, so I lightly ran my index finger over it. When I touched it, it moved!! When I looked again, the lump was gone.

Actually, the female is gravid, and pretty well swollen with babies. This one must have gotten pressed outward because of the position mom was lying in - explaining the lump. Nothing to do but keep waiting.

Harald..have you found your ATBs to be the aggressive devils that they're made out to be? Able to handle any of yours?

Too Cool Harald :)
The wait is a killer. But the good news is.......................you will live and it will be soooo worth the wait.

I handle all of them. Some tolerate it pretty well, others don't...the have always fallen into the category with the heading: I DON"T CARE IF THEY BITE. lol. The ones that are most likely to bite, I know when to expect it (...well, that goes for the ones that rarely bite, also). They're pretty easy to read.

Wow Harald, that's great news!
Hopefully I have some gravid females too. Mine are still eating. Is the female that you spoke about in this thread still eating?

oh yeah. she'll probably start squeezing the little buggers out just to make room for chow

Thanks Harald. I was hearing so much negative rep about ATBs that I almost wrote off keeping them! Good to know that you can still handle the guys!!

What size cages do you keep yours in?

I use 24x24x24 and 24x18x24 Jungle Habitats cages, and 78 qt sterilites for the adults. Smaller ones in smaller sterilites
