    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Ever since i was really little iv wanted to work at the San Diego Zoo, and finally yesterday i put in an aplication along with two writing samples, two letters of recomendation, and all science computer and after school activities iv done since 7th grade. It took me my parents and teachers 2 months to get everthing together and now i just have to wait to see if i get accepted in to be a highschool intern at the San Diego Zoos Intern Quest. The suspense is killing me:)

Ashton my thoughts and prayers are with you, I hope that you will be chosen as an intern.
Helpful hint for the future, in general: Spell check everything you send out. A well checked out application just looks better.
Please let us know what happens!

Ya i graduate this semester so this was the last time i could apply, but i didnt get excepted. I was in a car accident in 2009 that took a lot from me and writing skills was one of them my parents thank that was one of the ressons i wasnt excepted.

Im in home school thru dehesa charter. i applied after i past the CHSPE but my school requires a cerntent amount of credits before i can graduate so not sure were the CHSPE would come in to play other than if you dont pass it before its time to graduate you dont graduate. Ill pull up the link to the zoos intern quest just have to find it.

The next CHSPE is in October sometime, results given in November, graduation in June if passed
Is the internship program application deadline in May? If it is, do you think I would be able to do the program while graduating?

Ashton I'm sorry you didn't make it into the program. You might still be able to be a volunteer if that would appeal to you at some time.
The way you structure sentences is good, so I'm thinking if you put in the effort, your spelling will improve, if that is something you want to work on. Many companies these days require a resume prior to an interview, and there is a lot of competition. I think spell checking everything would be worthwhile.

As long as you are still in high school you can apply but it will have to be next year do to it being past the due date. Thank you lucille Spell check is one of my best friends, i plan to volunteer there i know some poeple that work in the reptile house and primate exhibits so maybe one day.

I've heard their even picky about volunteers and their credentials, but there were only a handful of slots (maybe a dozen or two?) for the internship program and probably hundreds of applicants, I didn't think I'd be accepted, either, if I applied within the timeframe

And only 16 are accepted so preaty good odds. Just they had us do a writing sample in front of them and i was the only one writing in chicken scratch but i also was the only one there in a dress suit and tie. If you want i can post all the stuff i did to apply so you can get an idea of what you would have to do.
