No Jurgen, you made this a PUBLIC issue when you deleted MY links from your PUBLIC board.  You also deleted my post on your PUBLIC forum.  I will not disuss this privately with you.

You initiated a huge breach of common courtesy between webmasters (darn I hate that word!) when you flew off the handle like you did.  Did you try to discuss that issue with me privately before you deleted my links?

Then you deleted my post on your BOI.  Did you try to discuss that with me privately first?

Deleting my post on your own version of the BOI was downright stupid.  Look at the traffic you are getting.  Virtualy nil.  I gave your readers something that was an opportunity to have something to talk about and you DELETED it.

People have asked why you removed my links from your TopSites board.  I believe you do not want to respond in public because you have no good answer except you did it out of spite and you know how that will sound.

This is a dead issue with me.  You made your choices and that's the way it will be.  I don't hold any ill will towards you, but please understand that what you did was an act of finality and of your own choosing.

you made some good points, let me tell you, you are right with some points, I was to quick in deleting your accounts. I agree that wasnt what I act normaly. But you know, sometimes you act strange when you are in stress, I bet you know that very well. Unfortunately you dont want to discuss this privately, but I respect your opinion, no problem.

So, unfortunately we end this way, but I can say it again, I'm willing to solve the problem anytime, thats for the records. You decide not to fix the probs, thats your right, sure.

Dear Rich and all other Faunamembers,

first let me say I know that I have a hard stand here, alot of ppl dont know me personaly. Right now it looks like all people judge me me as a "Bad Guy", but I'm really not. I spent alot money to provide a national and international herp network like ReptileTopSites.com, but not only money, I programed RTS and spent alot of time in everything. People that know my works or are members of RTS knows that all systems are free of charge, so my point I'm doing this is to make our wonderfull hobby more popular, belive it or not, thats why I'm into netsystems and netprogramming etc...!! Thats just as a small intro.

Now you eventually think: "Why is this jerk posting this now....". After the post of Gino, what I think is a posting that reflects his personality and character, I thought about it. People that know me knows that I'm not that kind of person that everyone think now. First let me say my native language is german, so eventually some sounds not 100% correctly, typos etc., excuse this, I'm trying my best!!

Okay here is the story, and I start at the beginning:

I went out on vacation for 7 days, when I came home, I noticed the RTS Server had some restarting probs (not for the whole 7 days, but a few days before I went home). After I noticed that I restarted the RTS Server again so he got back to 100% Power again, before it was 25% for 2 days. When I fixed everything I contacted all members, all members in the english and in the german speaking networks of RTS that I'm really sorry for the few days, but now everything is fixed and I do what I can that this kind of restarting problem never ocures. After mailing all members, I checked the systems (Ranking Systems) and noticed that Faunaclassifieds isolated the RTS Member Code, that was exactly right what Rich did, because when he has problems loading his site, its the normal behaviour to isolate the Code that cause the problem!!

The next day or so I contacted Rich privately to tell him I'm sorry about the probs and hopefully he can put the code back again, because now his site fall rankingwise. Let me say also, that members and exspecially members like Rich have a high priority to mail back right now. Just for the records Rich are a member of RTS long time ago, when his old BOI wasnt that big and RTS provided him with free promotion etc.

After my mail to him I waited for an reply, I know Rich is a busy guy like I am, so I thought he'll mail me. Then I checked that a guy, with him I had a very bad experience in the past, is regulary posting on his BOI. I was new at his BOI so I dont know the exact rules, in short, a newbe here. I did a mistake because I accidently posted in a other Topic, so Rich deleted my post there but put up an information why. Truthfully I dont read it, stupid thing not to do, but to tell you the truth I didnt. So I thought he deleted my post without any mail why etc., just like I would act when a "newbe" enters a new system.

So let me tell you that was my FIRST MISTAKE!! After that, and thats the truth, too, I was pi$$ed, sorry for the word, but that was the way I am. Normaly I dont act that quick, but sometimes in stress, humans act like this, we all do mistakes that human like. So I mailed Rich again to tell him that I dont know why he deleted my post etc. etc.
In that time his Faunaclassifieds account was still on RTS, but unactive because Rich dont put the code back, and thats enormous work for the me to delete unactive accounts, thats why I programed a automatic system that deletes alot unactive accounts in a prior of time. So I hoped that Rich would put the Code onto his page as soon as possible. Anyway,

Rich mailed me back telling me that I'm not high enough on his priority list to get back in touch with me and I have to wait. My mail was meant in a good way, that his account dont drop to low in the rankings before hes putting it back etc.
Then I hear that its not important if I have to handle unactive accounts and I'm personaly not high on his priority list. Then I made the SECOND MISTAKE, I didnt calm down (settle down) like I normaly act when I have to handle such things!! I deleted his SerpenCo and Cornsnake Account. I know that wasnt right, but we all make mistakes, arent we???

So, let me say, and this goes to Rich personaly:

I apology for the mistakes I did, belive it or not, that wasnt the way I handle things. But here at my end I had some private problems I dont want to share with the public, and so I acted very strange and did what I did!! So thats for you Rich, hope you take my apology!!

I know some think now, this Jürgen is a real jerk and coward!!
But let me tell you I'm a man that can stand behind his mistakes and can tell them when they happen, alot ppl arent able to. So in my opinion, its a win not a lose to act like this.

I know that alot of you still think I'm the bad guy, but hopefully I few think that this man did an mistake and stands behind the situation and knows when its time for a apology!! Also if there are only a few that will think about it that way. What I do now, is the way I am!!

Rich, hope you take the apology and can understand or even feel that something like this could happen in special situations of life!! Eventually we cant be friends, eventually never partners, but to respect each other to fix this between you and me as persons, thats very important for me!!

Again, I'm sorry, because I'm not as good as I want to be in your language, so hope you all know what I wanted to say with this!!

Let me first say that I have not read all of this thread and some of this may not be pertinent. My question is to Jürgen.
How can your "reptile top sites" be considered legitimate if not all of the reptile sites can be considered? If you take one of the top sites and ban it for personal reasons then your ranking system is no longer valid, is it?

I remember something like this happening to Jeff Barringer last year sometime. For ridiculous reasons Kingsnake.com was not (and maybe still not) listed in the rankings of one of these type of sites. As far as I am concerned the display of your ranking is no more than a trophey to display on your site. But when you have several of them saying you are in the top 10 is does lend some validity to your site when it comes to getting advertising dollars.

As far as I am concerned the only real disservice done here is to the RTS website. I have a very hard time legitimatizing the site and its ranking system if other sites are not "allowed" to be considered in the rankings. <img src="http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>

Mike,

every herp related site owner can add there site to ReptileTopSites.com. Its not me that choose the sites, the webmaster choose to add there site!! So The RTS Rankings are not like pure Link Sources where the webmaster of the link portal but the links on the sites, RTS is open for all and webmaster add there sites or not. Every herp related site owner is very welcome to add there sites via our automatic adding system, thats for sure!!

Hope I could answer your question, if you have more about my services and system, I would be happy to hear from you via mail, because I think Rich dont like it when we dicuss RTS related questions here, or??

No, no one contacted me about your message.  I read it myself, and as indicated in my edit, it was NOT pertinent to the thread you posted it in.  

This is an EXTREMELY busy time of year for me, and yes I do give priority to maintaining my sites.  I have someone helping me moderate that forum, but he is, unfortunately, out of the country for several days.

Sorry to see you getting huffy over this, but you violated a rule of my board, and caused me more work as well.  Normally I just delete messages that are out of context of the thread, but I extended you a courtesy by explaining why I had to take out your message.

If you want to start a new thread about Evan Stahl, please feel free to do so.

As for you implication that I am biased about how I enforce the rules on my board, I do resent that, but am writing it off as to your just not knowing the way I do things.

As for replying to your earlier emails, I currently have 844 emails in my 'in basket' that I have not replied to.  On a typical weekend, I will get around 200 more of them.  My first priority is to take care of my SerpenCo business.  Then the moderation of the message boards I run comes next.  Everything else gets done if and when I find time.  With 3,000+ baby snakes still to take care of, shows to do every other week, orders to be shipped several times a week, the phone ringing, emails to be answered, and the 1001 other things that crop up that need to be done on a daily basis, I am very sorry if you found yourself lower down on my priority list than you would like.  But that's just the way it is, I'm afraid.

Just so there is no misunderstanding, did you delete my accounts from your ReptileTopSites list?  I never got around to commenting out the code on my SerpenCo.com site when you server was down and gumming up the display of my pages, but notice now that there is just a '--' displayed on the count in the graphic.

The curious thing to note, and which is in dispute with what you are saying, is that you deleted my SerpenCo.com site, which did NOT have your RTS code commented out of it.  I didn't check on my HerpShows.com site, but I assume you deleted that as well.  My assumption is that you deleted EVERY site with my name attached to it all at the same time, which was immediately after your email quoted above.

What Mike pointed out was that the fact that anyone can enter their site onto your RTS is irrelevant if you can and will delete their entry when you get the whim to do so.  And no, I will not waste my time re-entering my sites onto your RTS site.

Yes, I also remember that episode about KINGSNAKE.COM getting deleted from a topsite.  I believe it was ReptileTop50.com.  My sites got deleted as well.  I spoke at length with the people running that site and they said they deleted my and Jeff Barringer's sites because they lacked content.  I was flabbergasted!  The amount of free advertising they got from Jeff's site alone was staggering and they deleted him.  Talk about one of the most boneheaded stunts of all time.  Of course, I don't believe they are still around, which surprises me not at all.

Take note of that above paragraph, Jurgen.  Some mistakes you make can be irrevocable and start off a chain reaction that you will not like nor be able to stop.  I do not believe what you have done to me will cause you any damage, but I do believe you need to review your personal attitude about how you run your site.

Just take this all as being friendly advice and a free lesson and let's go on our separate ways, shall we?

I dont exspect that you ever are willing to be a member of our services anymore. My apologys goes directly to you as a person and the guy I did an (some) mistake(s)!! Thats the reason I posted what I did!!

So would be happy to take my apology as it is, from a man to a man, and then we can go our seperate ways like you said. But exspecially I can look in the mirror and are able to say, I made the mistake but did my best to solve it!!
