I had a thread a few weeks ago about how bad my dealings with Wormman.com were, and i just wanted to let everyone know about the New people i am using!!!
The name of the company is J.B. Enterprises, and the J stand for JIM and the B stands for BETTY. They are a married couple who own a company with the best service and crickets i have ever seen,,,
When i first called them, Jim answered the phone in three rings,, he told me about his wife and him, he told me about his crickets etc, but most of all he was happy to talk to me, and was happy to have me as a customer. i already had some crickets ordered from somewhere else that day so i did not order from him that day..
I called back this monday, and talked to Betty, She was just as nice as her husband, very polite to talk to, and answered the phone on the third ring also. i placed an order, and got my crickets a few minutes ago,,,
I am here to tell you, the crickets were outstanding and out of all the thousands i ordered, there were less than 5 dead crickets in the bunch. even though the temps here last night were around 18 degrees! they were well packed, and a nice overcount!

In short, these people are a class act, and some of the finest crickets i have ever received! and they were happy to have my business,!
Pricing is great also....
1-5 thousand 15.00 including shipping!
6 thousand and up 12.00 including shipping!
So if you are tired of being treated like crap by some of the others out there, or are getting second rate crickets, give these people a call, they will be happy to hear from you, and you will be happy with your crickets! I sure was!

Chalk up another notch for JB...

JB has begun using UPS to ship their feeders, and two weeks in a row I have ordered feeders and have them arrive next day via UPS!!!! I cannot say enough for this company. If you try JB you WILL NEVER ORDER FEEDERS FROM ANYWHERE ELSE AGAIN! And their prices CANNOT BE BEAT! If you're looking for a quality feeder supplier of excellent caliber, CALL JB!!!! Routinely posting good guy threads including contact information, pricing, business updates. And you make it seem like you are doing everyone here a favor by telling them about your horrible experience with one company and how happy you are to have found an alternative. Absolutely amazing way of taking advantage of the BOI.
 
Honestly, however,

It IS the truth, which is what the BOI is here for correct? It's not a scheme, simply my experience with the company. I order every Monday morning and get my feeders on Tuesday without any extra charges whatsoever. Get that from any other company at competetive pricing and I'll be more than happy to try your feeder company as well! When I have hungry lizards, it's nice to know that the comapny I use is fast and prompt with UNPARALELLED customer service. If you have not used JB, I suggest you give them a try, and you'll be on here right behind me 100% satisfied posting your positive opinions of their feeders. It's no secret that I've personally had bad experiences with Wormman, and have had delayed shipments from here and there, feeders from other companies show up dead, ect., but now that I've started using JB I will NOT order feeders from anywhere else. Well I have their phone number, but am kind of busy during the day and get home late after work - so do they have a web site from which to order? I like to see the prices and guarantees and shipping terms in writing in writing before ordering too. If not, I will likely still give them a call, on your recommendation, but I do prefer making orders over the internet if possible.

I have no problem with someone giving good guys good reviews on the BOI, although I can see your point, but that sort of what the BOI is meant to do for the good guys. It is here to blast the bad guys and support the good guys. Of course someone could take unfair advantage and try to boost sales for a friend but I don't think that is happening here. Even if it is, so long as the claims are true - so what. If the claims are false, well then these fellows and J&B would certainly get some rather lousy BOI reviews in the future. I don't think Joe or Eric want that. Other people will start ordering soon from J&B and the proof will be in the pudding or is that cricket pie!

Of course, the webslave may have a problem with many posts on different threads saying the same thing over and over about the same company - that would be a waste of space.

I don't care how good these guys are, the fact is that I don't think the BOI is here to advertise. Both good guy threads that were started include item quantities, prices, and contact information.

Now this is a company that has no website, so it could be argued that providing all the above info is useful. From what I know of the company they claim to be in business for 10 years. Now surely a successful business would know how to advertise to reach their target audience. And it seems they are targetting us specifically through these good guy posts.

Now for the breeders out there, they have a new price

The prices for crickets are excellent, and I encourage you to take advantage of them while you can. But this is a company that claims to have been around for 10 years. Why would they need to undercut companies that they have never competed with to get your sales? It doesn't add up to me, but I'm sure I'll be proven wrong.
 
Maybe Joe forgot he posted the one when he posted the second! I'll give em a try to see what I get. I have been using Wormman but they get way too many bad guy posts for me to stay with them, and I had some minor problems with them too. So I'd like to try another outfit. Who knows maybe I'll wind up back at worm man.

I am sorry if it seems like i am Really really happy with JB Enterprises,, But i was So tickled to get outstanding feeders and great customer service from them, that i thought i was trying to help everyone by providing a "new" Company to get awesome feeders from,,,, The fact is they have been in Business for over 20 years... It says so on there receipt,, The fact also remains they are an older couple ( i would guess in there 50-60s)that is not up to date with the internet and built a business in the last 20 years on the basis of word of mouth and a handshake,,, when i inquired with them, they were very happy to tell me about there place, how they raised crickets etc,,, and how they have never really provided crickets to the "reptile world" as they are not up to date on the internet,,, so when i ordered from them,, and the feeders were better than i expected,, they were well packed with (60 hour heat packs) at the time it was cold,,, and the price was so attractive i just had to tell all! They have not cut me a better deal than anyone else,, and in fact i pay the exact same prices that are listed,,, They have not sent me anything free or in anyway compensated me for the "plugs" i have given them,,,,,
I just found a company that was by far the best i have ever dealt with,,, and when i was so happy, i tried to let everyone else know,,,, nothing more and nothing less! no conspiracy here,,,, and no hidden agenda,,,,, I was just trying to help an older couple that does this for their sole living get there foot in the door in a "world" they have not really been... They were so kind to me,, that i thought that was the least i could do,,, They opened an account for me just on a promise to pay,, and bill crickets for me on a monthly basis,, on nothing more than my word,, no one else in the "reptile world " would do that with out knowing you or paying up front for months and months would they..?
But i will make you a deal,,, Steve and Ken,,, if you try them,,, and you don't think you get the best crickets available for your $12.00 I WILL PAYPAL YOU THE MONEY TO REIMBURSE YOU FROM MY OWN PAYPAL ACCOUNT! One Last thing for Steve,,, My experience was horrible with wormman,, and if you go to the post on Wormman i started I even posted my phone bill to prove the 14 calls i placed to them to get the issues resolved with them on one order!
I am a true blue guy,,, i have never had a bad post on me and never will as i treat people with respect, and give them more than they expect when they deal with me,,, so unless you have proof i have a "hidden agenda." about anything, or have ever dealt with me and were unhappy with my products,, lay of questioning my motives, and bringing my reputation into question,,,, It is uncalled for and i have done nothing to deserve it,,,,

After seeing the post about them from Joe, I called them and had a great conversation with them. I ordered a couple of weeks later and could not be happier. I have ordered from them several times now with the exact same results. Excellent service and quality. Kudos go out to Joe for finding them and helping them out as well as us. They seem to be good honest people.

odd, but what's not these days

While I am a little concerned about what has been posted thus far, including the previous threads which lead me to scratch my head, I find it no stranger than some of the other stuff that winds up on the BOI.

But, being in the middle of the US and a bit removed from everything, it is of interest. What I can find positive in this post is that we are beginning to see feeder insect suppliers from more than the east coast, west coast, gulf coast and northern mid-west regions. Being located where they are, this company would probably be able to get feeders to me in a lot better shape than countless others. While I don't fault the others and have had some great service along the way this is just too close to not think about. For instance, have dealt with NY Worms, Wormman, Bug Co. and others along the way and been fine for the most part. Wormman also took care of a great mix-up some months ago and got personally involved when things went wrong from the office end of things. Will these folks? We're all looking for great prices and high quality, but how are things handled if something bad should happen...that's the mark of great customer service.

Now, if JB are the folks I think they are, then they've done some supplying for various pet stores in Ft. Smith over the years and still do for at least one non-herp store providing live fishing bait in cricket form (where I go to pick up quick fixes of feeders.) I'm just not sure, but will probably be asking real soon.

Like some have said so far, I just can't believe that after 10 years, especially in today's high-tech business world, that there isn't at least a very basic website with pricing and contact information available.

I'd say that if for some reason you're not 100% satisfied with your current supplier, either prices or service, then this may be worth checking out. But, a single unfortunate incident and/or minor price difference may not be enough. Think smart folks. If you've had a supplier for 6+ months, they probaby have a pretty good handle on your needs. If there was a problem, did they handle it in a professional and timely manner? Is that worth a bit of loyalty? I say THINK ABOUT IT!!!!! That's not to say you shouldn't give JB a chance, but think everything through carefully first. Personally, with our situation here, it may be worth checking out, but 75%+ of that thinking is location, location, location. Faster service based on total distance between supplier and here can be a good thing...now it's worth checking quality of product and service. I can tell you that if there's anything I don't like, I'll go back to the previous supplier immediately, even if it does take an extra day to arrive or cost $2.00 more.

Sorry for so long, probably rembling to some, but hope it causes some thinking. I see this as a positive post, but also see a lot of back-and-forth that it has caused. Take it for what it is.
 
As I said, I have no problem with seeing a goodguy thread, I have a problem with someone who knows the rules of the BOI posting multiple good guy threads on the same business within 2 days of eachother and each one reading like an advertisement.

At a time when Rich has a thread asking what can be done to make the BOI more credible, I think the wording of these threads is a slap in the face of that. Multiple threads reading like a cross between a gossip column and an advertisement.

I'm not saying to pass on J.B. at all, I intend to try them for my next order and I expect them to be top notch.

I have thought about the location factor too. The thing is though that when I have checked on the actual location from which the crickets are actually shipped to me, well I have found that location is sometimes deceiving. For example I have ordered from WormMan before. I am pretty certain it is their site that shows their farm to be somewhere in New Jersey. I thought that was great the crickets would be less than a day getting to me in Mineola, NY (just east of NYC). This was not correct if I remember correctly. The crickets actually shipped from someplace out in the Midwest like Michigan. I seem to recall that NY Worms does the same thing. Now, of course, they may breed worms at one location and crickets at another. Or they may simply have a breeder of crickets at another location who is also their supplier of crickets. Location can be deceiving - and I am not saying that any dealer is trying to be deceitful. I am not faulting anyone here except myself for not checking first. The thing is that most of the big name places on the coast are not actually shipping from the coast as far as I can determine.

My guesses are that: If you live in the Midwest, or mid south, then you are probably more likely to be getting crickets from close to the source if you order from a local dealer. If you live in the Northeast, then you are probably getting crickets from the Midwest or South or Midsouth regardless of your retailer being located in the northeast.

By the way, I just called JB Enterprises. They were not in but someone was there to answer the phone and did answer on the third ring - that must be a sort of trademark thing! The lady took my call back info and said they will contact me after Sunday. I am guessing it is a small business indeed - a mom and pop kind of a deal. That is ok by me as I have small orders that usually are not needed in a hurry. I will place an order with them in the near future.I like the fact that I can choose either posttal or UPS shipping. I usually choose the post office for my crickets, because my local post office gladly holds them inside the building until I pick them up. That is a great convenience, and it prevents them accidentally being left on a too cold or too hot doorstep.

Now, in the meantime, I have to place an order with someone else because right now I am sort of in dire need of crickets. I will for the meantime, remain loyal to Wormman.com. I already know what plenty of you think of WormMan - so you don't have to go there for my sake. I have gotten fairly good results each time I have purchased from them, and any problems were only minor and tended to promptly.

As I said, I would like to try JB Enterprises also. You never know when circumstances may cause a need to switch. By the way, does anyone know of a cricket supplier who actually raises their crickets close to NY instead of getting them from far away places?

Also,, If the worst thing on the BOI is 2 Good guy Threads about the same company then that has sure hurt the Credibility of the BOI!!!!!

We switched from our regular cricket supplier to JB Enterprises after reading this thread & have never been happier! Our local cricket companies are worse than you can imagine, customer service & personal one-on-one relationships are a thing of the past- JB Enterprises knows each customer by name and is appreciative of every order big or small. Always a thank you and a kind word when we have called. They are the classic "mom & pop" business that remembers the time when knowing your customers on an individual basis was the only way to stay in business. We have switched our weekly standing order over to them & have been getting both the best quality crickets, the best price & the best service that we have ever gotten in over 15yrs of buying crickets!!!
It is very hard to find honest, hard working PEOPLE to do business with in this day & age. There are alot of COMPANIES out there that can meet your feeder needs, but if you want to work with great PEOPLE, try them out! I find that it is hard to give out loyalty to a COMPANY that can't even remember your name, your order, or anything after 5 years of weekly orders...JB offers service on a personal level & that is hard to find- once you talk to them you will know why I don't need a website with a long list of terms to know that I will be taken care of if there ever is a problem.

Thanks again Joe for finding this company-even if it was just for a few of us! No more big corporate cricket screw-ups to try to clean up ourselves!

You know i placed this thread originally just to pass on a company that i thought was just cream of the crop... not that they cut me any deals,,, or sent me anything free,,, I was very happy with them so i thought if i could tell others they would be happy and i could also try and help out a good old " Mom and Pop" company that has been very nice to me and remembers me( by name) everytime i place an order and contact them,,,
Some people out there just cannot understand how i did not have a hidden agenda or was some how connected to them,,, but i assure you i was just trying to let everyone know of a great place to do business with, that will really thank you for your business,,,, maybe all the naysayers will finally take this thread for what it is,, and nothing more,,,,, ( Naa,,, they never will , to much time on there hands and not understanding thats some of us don't have alterior motives in everything we do,,,) but wishful thinking just the same,,,,

I don't get in here to often but I just wanted to say I tried theem out .. We was so close as I live in SW Missouri so I figured I have to check them out .
I called the number in starting thread and told them where I was and she dropped from 15.00 to 14.00 a 1000 shipped . I ordered a 1000 adults for 14.00 and when I got them (2 days ) hardly any dead and a nice golden color to them .
I commented on the coloring (as we use to buy a few from Bass Pro Shop when I lived In Columbia,Mo . They was always golden colored ) she said it was because they was young crickets at 6 weeks .
I was pleased with my purchase from them and service is good old fashion professionalism ( I know I spelt that one wrong !!!!!

I just got my first order from them and they arrived with 100% alive, I am sure there are several great companies out there but I will continue business with them as they are fast effective and inexpensive, and a great family business.
 
Well I guess I'm kind of small time compared to most of you but based on what I’ve read here I think I’ll give them a try. I’m feeding about 200 crickets a week now and the local pet shop has strongly suggested I start ordering full shipments.
