    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Leighanne, I'm not sure how you would heat up a rock to the right temperature and have it stay that temperature for any length of time? It takes time for them to digest their food. The size container you have him in would be sufficient for a guy his size for the time being, but he really needs to be able to thermoregulate. They do sell the ZooMed type UTH (under tank heaters) for 1-5 gallon containers, I would look for one of those, and a rheostat or thermostat to regulate the temperature of it. A UTH should cover approximately 1/3 of the bottom on one side, and keep the correct temp for him to sufficiently digest his food, but not get too hot. I prefer to be able to keep a small hide on both the warm and cool sides of the enclosure so they can choose which spot they need to be in.

Vitamins are not necessary for a snake....they should get all they need from the food they eat.

And yes, many snakes will not eat when they are in shed. I personally have a couple of corns that are complete gluttons and will never turn down a meal....but many snakes just don't eat when they are in shed.

Well thanks for the help, I'm looking into some heating sources now for him. I know these pictures aren't the greatest but could any body give me any ideas as to what type of Corn Jake is?

Hello, Kristin.

The photos are of too low quality for me to answer for sure what type little Jake is, but my guess would be a normal. Would it be possible for you to supply better pictures?

:)
