In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Jamaican Boas Breeding

First up is E3. E3 is up to a whopping 62 grams, which is not especially surprising considering her reliable feeding. She was also not in the mood to cooperate, and took more than a few shots at me, though try as I might, I couldn't get a good picture of one.

H2 is up to 38 grams and is developing some really interesting reduced blacks. Almost a patternless wash compared to most of the others, with just a little bit of flecking.

Of course, the most pictures are of H3. This guy is really turning out to be my buddy. I'm going to have to raise him up to be a species ambassador. His demeanor really just can't be beat, and I really like the high contrast blacks he's continuing to develop.

H4 is up to 38 grams, keeping on pace with H2. H4 also has some reduced blacks, though not nearly to the degree of H2. The plus side is some very nice eye bars.

H5 is up to 40 grams and was not the least bit cooperative. This was the only remotely decent picture I could get.

and H6, who is usually very aggressive, was not nearly as much so today. However, he did make quite a few breaks from the scale and as such managed to get himself covered in musk and dust before the photos were taken, so please excuse the mess. He is by far the reddest of the holdbacks, and has some very nice blacks as well.

Love the updated care sheet! I recently acquired 2 one month old neonates. Not 100 percent sure that they had fed before recieving them. At exactly 1 month old (born 6/12/2015) each baby weighed 9 grams. However, 1 of the 2 has taken 2 meals of f/t pinks scented with frog (I have a pet pacman frog that came in handy for this). I have some chicks arriving this week, and will be offering my other baby a chick thigh, like you did. I plan on offering an unscented pink to baby 1 next feeding.

I just wanted to pop in and add in my two cents whenever I see something that might work for me, and that way we can all learn together. This thread has been a HUGE help, as these little ones came into my life with about 12 hours notice.

That's great to hear. Welcome to the thread (and the species, for that matter). Please don't hesitate to reach out if there's any questions I can answer for you. I'm really glad to hear that there are some in Texas. I had heard from a few people that were looking for some in that state, so that's definitely good news. Do you know what bloodlines your babies came from? I assume they are siblings.

Thanks! Yes, they are siblings. My friend who is also in town has 2 other siblings. Not 100 percent sure of bloodlines. They passed through a middle man before they got to us, but I'm going to try and get more info. They were produced at The Snake Farm in New Braunfels, TX (just north of San Antonio).

I will definitely reach out if I have any questions. There is so little information on these guys, so knowing we can turn to you is a big deal.

Here is one of my little ones.

They look great. Congratulations to both of you. I will say, though, that if they are being cohabitated, they should probably be split up. I've heard of a few instances of accidental cannibalism amongst hatchlings (going after the same food).

Definitely not cohabbing! My friend picked up the 4 babies and they were transported in the same large deli container. Each baby is set up individually. I don't agree with cohabbing any animal.

Good to hear. I have heard of people cohabbing adults with success, and many people cohab babies when they are just born for space reasons, but individual housing is always safer.

Well, today was a red letter day for the juvenile tegu that I use as a garbage disposal, but not so much for feedings. Some good news in there, too, though.

Almost none of the holdbacks ate. Everyone was offered a quail chick, and H4 was also offered a chick thigh. Only E3 and H6 (by far the two best eaters) ate. Everyone else declined.

As always, T3 ate her fuzzie with no issues, but T4 declined to eat either of her two chick thighs.

E2, however, ate an unscented pinkie for the third time, so I think it's safe to call him a pinkie eater at this point.

N1 and N3 were offered a pinkie and chick thigh. N1 ate the thigh only. N3 declined both.

N2 and N4 were each offered an unscented pinkie only. N2 declined, but N4 ate. I think it is also safe at this point to say that N4 is on pinkies. I will probably offer N2 an unscented pinkie again next week, but if he declines again, I will probably go back to scented.

These are considerably lower numbers (despite the two big victories with E2 and N4) than I am used to, so I am trying to figure it out. It's not uncommon for one or two of these guys to skip a meal here or there, but for 7 of 13 to not eat is a bit unusual. The only thing I can think of that was different this time was the fact that after feeding all of my animals, I vacuumed out the reptile room with a shopvac. I was careful not to directly clean around their rack, but I assume that having that disturbance in the room on a feeding day is probably the issue. At the very least, I'll be sure not to do it again.

My baby #1 was looking particularly cute last night. Today I'm offering this baby an unscented pink, and #2 (who hasn't eaten for me yet) a chick thigh!
