In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Hi all,
Seems that the only e-mails I have been getting when I advertise are from people like this. I have done a cut and paste of the e-mails between this person and I. My gut tells me F-R-A-U-D, am I right?

*Starting from my last reply to him*

My prices are set, I will not go any lower and I am going with my gut here and it says not to trust you. I'll run your name and these e-mail threads by all the members on Fauna and see what they say about you/if they know of you.

Sorry US sales ONLY as my ad says and I only accept Pay Pal, United States Postal Service Money Orders and Chashier's Checks from a U.S. Bank. I might be new to breeding/selling snakes but I know a fraud like this when it comes about. You rip people off.
Good day,

I\'m Interested in buying your advertised Snake Well,I have seen the advert and I think I\'ll like to contact the seller before I can proceed. So i want you to email me some recent pics of it and also i want you to get back to me with the actual price for it so as for me to proceed with this transaction. So I\'ll be paying with a U.S Bank Drafit Cheque which was drawn from a United State Bank.So get back to me as soon as possible with those informations.
My Regards

LOL, as many as I have been getting like this I will end up in shock if I get an e-mail from someone who is actually ligit. Thanks~

That word got me too as well. There is another one that keeps e-mailing me that says pretty much the same thing but adds into their e-mail that they have their own shipping "method" and someone will come a pick up the "package" from me. Puh-leeeze.

The really sad thing is they must be making tons of $$$ off these scams because everyone I know who sells any kind of animal gets tons of these emails.

Yeah, it is very sad. I guess the only thing us good guys can do is to spread the word about people like that through places like this and hope for the best.

It's EVERYWHERE....

...not just in critters, either. My mother and her husband put an ad out to sell their boat, and got 6 very similar responses. They wanted to send her a cashiers check for 2 times what the asking price was, and they would just have to refund them the difference and someone would come to pick up the boat "for their buyer". The sad thing is.....my mom found it questionable, but her hubby was all for doing it. If I hadn't convinced mom to check it out at the bank first, they would have been out several thousand dollars they can't afford to lose. So people ARE falling for it :hot: .......glad you were smart enough to see the flags pop up.

What's just as bad (and this is OT) is I have gotten a few of these responses through personal ad's too lol. Something about their father that died and left them all this money but they need an American to help them deposit it into a US bank so that they can come to America and that the person that helps would be repaid with 10% of the money that gets deposited...yadda yadda yadda. Sick people and I feel sorry for the ones that have fallen for it.

I recently "won" one million Euros in a lottery that I never entered. They sent me six or sight e-mails asking for a "good faith" deposit of $10,000. Yeah, right. LOL.

WOO-HOO lucky lucky you!!!! It's amazing the stuff people try to pull and can get away with over the net when one can be gullable. Glad you saw the light.
